Hybrid XL To be delivered to dealer by end of month. Built May24th and doesn't seem to be under recall status at this time. With all the known quality issues just can't decide whether to take delivery or just keep what i have. Guess i still have a few days to figure it out.

I was in the same position as you. However I ordered a lariat. Wasn’t sure what to do. When I got the call it was being built I was shocked. Then a month later I got the call I needed to come see and/pick up. It really started to set in and I was debating to actually do this or keep my gti. I ultimately ended up getting it. I love it. I don’t mind the plastics, although it’s kinda sad how poor they are, the look is awesome. I love the style and layout. I love simplicity. Love the bed and the style of the truck overall.
Some stuff is annoying over time. I didn’t think the stuff I heard about on YouTube and here would be that bad but the seatbelt notice staying on for so long is dumb. At first no biggie. Then when I had to start changing the drive mode every time I get in I found the seatbelt thing to be annoying and now having to always put it back into eco mode is also annoying. Some how it remembers the heated steering wheel/heat seats settings but not the drive mode. That really doesn’t make sense. I haven’t had any issues with the truck for the past month of ownership other then the shudder feeling going from ice to electric. It wasn’t there for the first 900 miles. Around then it did it really hard and noticeable. Now i noticed it from time to time. Hoping Ford comes out with a fix for it because I know they say it’s normal but I can’t see how it is. Seems like half have the issue and the other half don’t. If half don’t then it makes me believe there is an issue.
did have my alarm go off randomly once when we got out of the car. That was funny. My wife and I just looked at each other.
Love the drive tho. I am not effected by any of the recalls yet.
what are you driving now?

My 1/12/23 built Hybrid Lariat BAP Lux has been flawless and wonderful to drive. No recalls, either.

Just checked KBB this morning, which showed the Private Party sale value at $45,782; trade in value at $42672. Both of those prices are over $10,000 more than I paid for it. Don't let the recall fears worry you. Great truck, great value, and you aren't going to get hurt if it turns out you don't like it. I love mine and won't be selling it at any price.

currently drive a 2021 Corolla SE manual. I know it will be reliable for miles to come which makes it harder to let go. Thanks for the feedback

I think if you bought an XL I think it’s worth it. I think I spent more then it’s really worth but I wanted all the stuff. If the xlt had a push to start I would have bought that with all the packages and been happy. Good luck on your decision. You’ll love the truck tho. And I always had a manual. First auto. Don’t miss the stick. Do look for it all the time. Especially going to go in reverse for some reason lol

If you need the utility of a small truck that Maverick isn't bad. You've got a solid reliable newish car, and a Toyota at that, hard to give that up for an uncertainty of the Maverick. One things for sure, when Toyota comes out with a similar compact truck (if it's a hybrid) I'll be looking to switch back, I miss my trouble/recall free Camry Hybrid, and if I didn't need a truck I would go back now.

Also have a Camry as well and trouble free they are. Had a truck years ago and i don't NEED a truck but like having one for those occasions that periodically come up.

Don't just me wrong, I don't think the Maverick is a bad or poor made vehicle. There are some things about American brand vehicles I don't care for, and the Maverick has those things. I do some light truck stuff, as part of my business, so it is great for that without a $400+ a month gas bill. I suspect one built now won't have the issues that some of the older builds have as well. It's the price I paid for getting a first year of a new model to have a bunch of recalls.

If the Toyota Stout ever gets built it would be a great option.

No bugs/recalls/issues/complaints for mine, built 1/12/23.

Love both Mavericks we have. Have driven every conceivable vehicle from A to Z and really like the Maverick. As far as recalls are concerned, they are not limited to first or second year vehicles. Lines that have been around for many years still get recalls. My truck before the Maverick was a RAM 1500 Laramie and guess what - got not one, but two recalls within two years.
