Yep. Never say it was just sitting in the road and you hit a stationary object. Instantly that's collision and the deductible is usually pretty high. Many comp coverage have zero or very low deductible.Yep, and unless the deductible is that high, probably worth it. It may count as a comprehensive claim, so make sure you're covered for that. Those tend to not count against you as much as collision claims. What it falls under will be determined by the insurance adjuster based on the exact sequence of events. Sometimes they'll consider an object or animal that is moving as a comprehensive claim while considering hitting an unmoving/dead animal/object as a collision claim.
If only deer had to maintain insurance for when they hit you, because of course that happened to me around the corner from home... Then I could've filed the claim on its policy.Yep. If the object was moving another vehicle kicked it into your path. Comp claim.

Putco and Mountains2Metal both make one for the 5g Ranger, so probably a good place to start. But protection for the lower grille openings has been something that's concerned me on a lot of previous vehicles I've owner. Perhaps there's a good business opportunity for one of our vendors to look into. Some sort of easily installed insert to help protect these vital components from road debris would also be welcomed and a worthy investment.
