I just learned about the tow-ball hitch recovery dangers today.

Very informative and an absolute must watch on how to safely recover a vehicle. You may have saved a life just by posting this. Many thanks.

Great job! Did you haul out the Bronco with the trailer attached? Now that would be newsworthy! (Not that yours isn't)
Yes! The double jet ski trailer was attached! That’s when he got stuck, trying to tow the skis out from the water on the sand

We got our Maverick XLT Hybrid in Oct 6, '22. We now have 20K plus miles with a lot of highway driving due to work. So far our average MPG is 38.9. A lot of mountains, plus including a round-trip from Blaine, WA to Colorado Springs, CO. Rides nice, and with winter tires it handled snow and ice just fine. Very pleased with it. Since I do not have a hitch, no towing in the future. But I do see the use of a hitch.

Good video.
Good advice.

Surprised he didn't mention putting a blanket, heavier the better, on the tow rope/strap. I always felt two blankets are best. Put one on the tow vehicle end, put one on the towed vehicle end.

Literally acts as a drag chute / energy absorber in case of a fail.

But I've never needed to put it to the test. I only pull trailers.

Now that's something I hadn't thought of doing. Of course, my immediate neighborhood is urban/suburban and I don't normally do off-road, but this is a great idea to help absorb a flying piece of metal. Perhaps a furniture blanket wrapped around the tow points and taped?

From what I've seen videos of, you don't even have to tape it. Just hang it over the like like a taco shell, half on either side. Even a jacket will do tons of good.
Some will keep a mat of some sort in their vehicle so they don't have to sit or lay on the ground, others in wintery states keep a blanket in the truck incase they get stranded. Use it on the tow rope/strap.

Great advice. You may have saved someone from a serious injury or even death.
