Is this were we are seriously at now..........good lord.......Anyway, since I have a Mav with the lux package I was able to confirm that the power seat does in fact recline further back then the manual seat.

Drivers side power seat reclines to about an inch or two away from the back seat.

Passenger seat with manual adjustment reclines to about 3 to 4 inches away from the back seat.

It’s because these days someone would bitch that the seat reclines too far and hits the rear seat.
That person would not be a fat person. We need all the extra support we can get.

If you curl up in the fetal position, you should be able to sleep in the bed. I would recommend you not do that with a spray in liner, however. That might be uncomfortable.

With a bed mat, or the carpeting that someone else did, I think that would work.

Just don't get the truck stolen while you're sleeping in it like this guy did. No, I am not making that up.

I don't get why it needs a stop at all. My last vehicle, also a Ford, the seats reclined as far back as it can go until it hit something. In that case, the back seat. I don't get why this can't just do the same thing, lol.
i think because the stress on bolts on seats ?? my only guess

Alright, so last week I think I discovered my most hated thing about the Maverick. The stupid seat only reclines partially back. I've had times where I need to be somewhere extremely early in the morning and I cannot be late, so to beat traffic I would drive there at night and sleep there. My 2007 Edge's seat would recline all the way back until it hits the back seat so I can lie almost completely flat, but the seat in the Maverick only goes like halfway back. Why? Does it save them money somehow for it to not go all the way back? lol. Anyway, small rant. 😂
Was just going to post about this til I came across this thread. I finally found something I hate about the truck. I take naps in my cars sometimes. It’s really annoying that the seat doesn’t recline all the way back.

I wish there was some kind of hack that could make it so it reclines all the way back, lol.

Because it likely allows them to save a couple dollars somehow.

Same reason why even a 38k First Edition doesn't have angle adjustments for the seat cushion.
My '22 Lariat Hybrid definitely has the seat angle adjustment. It's the "height" adjustment, which actually only changes the back part of the cushion. Lower the seat, and the angle increases. Raise the seat, and the angle decreases.

I'm personally not a fan of the system. I'd rather have it be individually adjustable from height.

The 10-way power seats not available on Maverick offer both a vertical adjustment on the seat base, as well as a tilt on the seat base. The 8-way power seats drop that tilt feature, so you just get height adjustment. Depending on the driver and their seating position, this may have the inside of the right knee at an uncomfortable angle on the front edge of the seat base.

The change is entirely a cost cutting move, though they may have some excuse as a "chip shortage" issue. 2020+ Escapes with the power seats used to only come 10-way, but for 2022, you had to go to the SEL trim and add the SEL Technology Package.

Take it in for the airbag recall, mine early built 2021 couldn’t recline to any point back that would support sleeping. After the second return for messing up the seat, they fully fixed the seat, it goes so far back now the back window knocks off my cowboy hat. Haven’t tried to sleep in it but it’s possible now.

While this thread is about reclining seat problems, there is a number of us that expressed sleeping in truck. Anyone else thinking of removing passenger seat to fit a bed like platform? Been mulling over that idea. There is a Maverick owner here with a history of reworking the insides of a vehicle into micro-RVs. I post his videos here to spread his great insights.
