Curious to see what you fabricate for the 3 piece components. I haven't heard the new R series yet, but my local shop was telling me about them when I stopped in recently.

You didn't mention the sub model but I zoomed way in and saw 10tw3. Surprised you didn't try the Alpine RS 10 instead.

I have access to JL stuff, use to be part of Team JL Audio, Zapco and Hybrid Audio Technologies back in the day (competed in SQ competitions for since around 1999 with several different vehicles), yes I am old. I only own one of the vehicles still, I will post some pics some time. I do have a 2002 Honda Civic that always stays about 90% done. Alpine I am just another consumer, if JL had the new C5 3-way to market yet, the Alpine would not be going in. JL does not have a release date for the new C5 yet only that it is being developed.

Hoping the Alpine do everything I want them to do, if they do they will stay, if not when the C5 come to market I will try them.

I have installed a ton of the TW3 subs and in a ported box they shock me every time. They have the ability to not only sound good but some surprising loud output.

I'm pretty old too. :)

I think the TW3 sounds great relative to many other shallow-mount subs, and the 13TW5 even moreso. Just looking at the specs though, the Alpine RS 10 is intriguing to me.

I see you have a hybrid so it's not an option for you, but earlier this week in a FB group I saw someone built a very elaborate MDF enclosure replacing both rear bench bins on an ecoboost truck. They said 2.2 cuft ported, and installed a 10w6. (y)

That's cool, Creative on how he ported it. I have a 13TW5 in my F250 Behind Rear Seat, I tried to figure out a way to fit one behind seat of Maverick but came to the conclusion I would not be able to make it work. Some one out there might figure out how to get one behind the seat.

Yep. I wanted a ported 10 but gave up the idea after making some measurements. I just have a sealed 8 in one bin.

Yes, the outer door skin and some on the back side of the black plastic inner skin. The door panels have it also with thin closed cell foam. Only around the speaker and inner door skin did I do foam just to try and decouple the midbass from the door some, fingers crossed no rattles.

I will have pillars done in about a week. There are a lot of options now, that save a lot of fab work. I will post up what was usable and not usable with links to simplify the process.

OP: just noticed, I believe it's automatic, but the forum has decided to use the pics I uploaded in a reply as the 'preview' for this thread. sorry about that... I can remove them if you'd rather your pics are displayed. (I can't recall this happening before? I mean, the pic, people stray mildly off-topic a lot. )

I guess remove them so there is confusion on what is going on. I appreciate you showing them to me though.
