I got this email yesterday:

"Ed,

Unfortunately, at this time we do not believe that your order with us will be scheduled or produced in this model year. Due to the constant production issues Ford is experiencing it is unlikely that we will be able to deliver on the order you have placed. We know this is extremely frustrating but wanted to make sure you knew this so you can adjust or make plans accordingly. We are happy to keep the order in the system in the off chance something in production changes. We can also keep you updated should an order become available or we happen to get a Pre-Owned model. Please let me know if I can get you any other information or can be of assistance in any other way. We appreciate the opportunity you have given us and wish we could have delivered on it."

Fortunately I already have a Maverick XL that I've added Cruise Control to. I don't really need another one, but I'm going to ask them to hang onto the order anyway, just in case.

Seems a bit premature...... I would stay linked so if it does get built, you'll get first refusal.

If it's a hybrid order they may be right. If it's an Ecoboost order it really ought to be built by the end of the model year.

Ford may have shared something this morning with dealers that isn't public yet. But if it is a Hybrid XL, likely not a bad guess by the dealer.

Thanks for sharing. What date did you receive a Ford confirmation for this order that your dealer notified you about? I received my Ford order confirmation on 9/16/22 (at 8:39AM) for a Maverick Lariat Hybrid. Supposedly that's on the earlier side and as far as priority at my dealer, I believe my hybrid order is up next. Since then I've also removed all other constrained features except for hybrid powertrain. Though, my dealer told me about a month ago it's still very possible my order won't be fulfilled. I wonder if I should expect a bad news note like the one you received!

The message the OP shared said this model year, which I could believe. No doubt it'll eventually get built, but this model year for a Hybrid XL is probably a no.

Hang in there for a 2024 ST rollover

Well, this isn't great news but its really hard to be surprised about it given how many have waited a year and a half. 500+ day club here we come.

At least someone at FoMoCo has worked up the courage to tell Maverick buyers what we already know... its a long shot and longer than you think long shot.

They are now beginning to manage expectations and better late than never I guess. On the positive side there may be more of us who are able to finance little or nothing towards the Maverick given the longer wait time

Got confirmation of an "early" order received on September 18, '23. The order was placed the same day. I only put an order in for a '23 because my lame right foot insists I need to have Cruise Control. Since I've added it to my '22 XL I really have no need for a '23 now, but my GF could use a new car, so could others I know.

It appears you do have an honest dealer. Most would just ignore the matter and leave you hanging. If I am not mistaken, somewhere on the forum it was indicated that there will not be the rollover system as was used from 22 to 23 MY. I might be wrong, but pretty sure that was discussed. If so, then people will just have to order again for 24 MY.

Problem seems to be XL with hybrid. More and more we read of Lariat Hybrids getting built, but not many XL's. Obviously, Ford is concentrating on $$, which, to be honest, most companies in any industry would do. It doesn't help the guy who gets left out, but I guess that is just the lesson of economics, profit, etc.
