Hi everyone,
I created an order for a Lariat with a local dealer. However, I saw the price hikes from Ford for 2023s I asked the dealer to change my order to an XLT. Instead I began getting emails from Ford with orders for both versions, meaning the dealer had placed a separate order so they could sell it. All good there, I told them it was smart to do so.
However, my financial situation has improved since placing the initial order and I got an email from Ford saying the Lariat is scheduled for production on March 6, but not the XLT. I told the dealer i want to take the Lariat since it was my original order and it hasn’t even been made yet and they can keep the XLT. Now, they are telling me they don’t see the order on their end. Is it possible that Ford is making a truck with a “cancelled order” or do you think they are playing dumb to sell the Lariat on their own for more?
