Hi everyone, I seem to be bringing updates on alleged constrained parts/options to my dealer before they bring it to me. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Is there a particular site where a no kidding legit updated list is posted?

I see updates on constrained parts/options on this forum as well as elsewhere on the internet. Obviously, I won't believe everything on the internet, but when I observe consistency in updates, I move closer to giving info more credit. There are occasions when I bring the updates to my dealer and they respond either with "oh wow, you're right," or "we're not seeing it on our end." I also don't have confidence in the FAQ response regarding supply chain constraints on the Ford site.

I'm leaning towards dropping the trailer hitch and splash guard options from my hybrid order because I've seen they're constrained options. But, I want to confirm they are in fact constrained and I'm not sure my dealer is on top of the list!

Yes, both of those are constraints, and your order will have a much better chance of being scheduled if you remove them.

This is something fairly new, but there is a list on WBDO called
Retail Commodity Report that lists key constraints. Sometimes similar notes in Ford Scheduling Notes. Starting about two months ago, these are posted to the WBDO homescreen on Mon or Tues.

I was scheduled a week after dropping the hitch as a hybrid order, but then again I saw bunch others get scheduled at the same time as me with standalone hitch - take that as you will.

Drop the flaps. Full stop.

As for the hitch, why do you need a hitch? If you are only ever going to carry bikes, then drop it and get an aftermarket solution.

If you plan to tow a small trailer on a regular basis, then you can keep it and take your chances. No sense getting a truck you can't use as a truck if need an actual truck. But Ford has announced an aftermarket solution to the wiring. So, while it may be more expensive after the fact, you can still get a hitch with wiring aftermarket.

Thanks for the response KevCuRaoi! I'll check out those sites to find the updated information. In the meantime, off to my Ford dealer to take features off to try to improve my chances at getting my order scheduled sooner. I'm not wed to the hitch or splash guards since they are relatively low price to do through aftermarket mods.

I agree. When I added the hitch I figured a $100 cost is worth it in case I use it. We have one of those trailer hitch cargo carriers that we use when we need to carry extra gear for outdoor trips. However, I agree not worth it if it'll potentially challenge my order getting pushed through. But, at the time I put in my reservation, it wasn't constrained (or, at least my dealer didn't tell me) and is only $100.... much cheaper than aftermarket. But, I'm dropping it along with the splash guards.

You're welcome!

Those are sights only dealers/Ford will have access too.
I did check the info for this week just before I answered yours, so it is up to date.

I'm not sure who at your dealer has access to WBDO. And the info in that place is fairly new. Dealers' sales reps used to email similar info out weekly.
