22's on Maverick Lariat.

Wheels: 22x9 Forgiato Flow 001
Tires: 265/40/22

Owner says there's a little rubbing (no surprise).

Function is primary. My upgrade is going to be some used Bronco wheels with snow tires for the winter. Thought that was going to happen last winter, wonder if it's going to happen THIS winter? Still looking forward to those heated seats. Come on Ford!

I was thinking about 22's, but 8.5 wide and lower profile tire. Not much rim selection for this bolt pattern. Sucks. I wish it was a more common bolt pattern.
Yes the bolt pattern sucks, even the tire shop near me said it sucks. One guy on this site said there are plenty of choices. Yes maybe 17 and 18 inch. I would never waste money on the same size as stock.

Yes, there is such a thing as too big tires. Lived in rural town for 5 yrs. All the boys lifted their truck body up and put gigantic tires on them. IMHO, not a good look.

Well, I think they look pretty sharp, but I would not put 22s on my Maverick... Our roads just suck too much for that to be practical! Too many potholes, raised manhole covers, rough expansion strips on the freeways, etc.

We had 20s (with low-profile tires) on my wife's Impala, until we hit a "trench" across the entire width of a road (couldn't see it until too late because we were following a large dump truck). Didn't hit it very hard, but managed to bend all four rims, and cracked one wheel so that it was slowly losing air. In addition, all four tires showed sidewall damage when we removed them.

Replaced the wheels with 19" and put taller-aspect-ratio tires on 'em (same rolling diameter). We both feel like the ride improved pretty dramatically.

Imho.... 22" wheels are not to big. The width and aspect ratio of the tire as well as the offset is why he is "rubbing".

I'm on 22" wheels but measured everything prior to selecting wheels and tires and no rubbing anywhere. Diameter of my tires are the same as my stock 18" wheels are. The Maverick is quite shallow in the rear wheel wells so you cannot go too wide without rubbing the inner plastic fender wells. I went with 255/30/22 for a more sports look rather than rugged (hey its unibody construction anyway). I know its not for everyone and that's ok... we each have different tastes. I also have a 2016 F150 crew cab as well as a 2021 F150 single cab, both lowered and on 24" and 22" wheels respectively. It's just my style...but I will be special ordering a 2024 Ranger that I plan to build as my 1st slightly lifted truck. Excited!

This is my Mav on 22" wheels..... go easy

Hey man what is the exact rim size and offset you used?
That's exactly what I'm going for.

Yes. I've been super buried with work and then when my Focus RS arrived, I took a lil time to play with it and add a few upgrades... as I wait for the new wheels for the Maverick and Focus. These wheel/tires will need a new home. Locally is best but can palletizing them and send freight if need be.

Lol... I wish Brian. I'm tired. My head is full of ideas but my body just wants to lay on a beach as I Glace over at the cruise ship in the distance sipping some 100 proof drink to drown out my thoughts of work! Lol

I believe you said they rubbed... Is that due to Wheel, tire or both? I don't want to mod anything I just want biggest wheel tire combo that fits properly. I had 24's on my f150 sport and I loved the look and I got people stopping me all the time about my wheels and how it made the truck look badass. I got some hate too but most comments were extremely positive

Me? I never said my wheels rubbed. I've never had an issue with this setup rubbing. Not even a lil bit.

Ok. Must have confused you with another post. I've been scouring the site for wheel setups. So a 22 fits perfectly that is excellent
Well that is a blanket statement. Everything is relative. Wheel width, offset and tire size.
