Just got back from dealer! brought my Maverick in 2nd time for vibration that emulates thru steering, when normal driving and just giving slight gas to pedal.
was told by dealer that that the vibration was normal. They said it`s part of fuel management theory! vehicle is in 6th gear at that speed for fuel savings. And nothing could be done to change it. Am I nuts and the only person feeling this most annoying effect? I thought about looking for a tune that I could reprogram shift speeds to compensate or just sell the truck.
please tell me I`m the one feeling this.

You're not the only one feeling it. I get vibrations in my floor on my AWD Maverick in certain speeds/RPMs.

Your dealer is plain lying to you because they don't want to investigate. Nothing new.

Still am I alone in this? Does anyone else feel this?

I have two MY22 MAVs that were built about 8months apart and neither of them have kind of vibration going on at any speed.

Could it be a wheel out of balance or an alignment Issue?

Absolutely owned an alignment shop for20 plus years. This is when slight gas is applied. They say trans shifts into 6th gear for economy but puts a load on engine until power band is reached. Don't want a bunch of different causes just want to verify what I'm experiencing. Thanks anyway

Driving in sport mode would rule out "lugging". If you are still having vibrations driving with lower gears/higher rpms, I would have someone check your tires.

There’s like a 90% chance you’re not feeling anything serious. If nobody can diagnose it but you then it might just be something that you’re sensitive to, in that case just sell it. No reason to keep a new vehicle you’re not satisfied with.

Trying to diagnose subjective/perceptive issues is very difficult live, let alone through a forum post.

Try experimenting with the way you drive & different drive modes to confirm changes. If another Mav is available somewhere to drive & compare, do that. Check with other dealers & private shops.

You may, or may not, have an issue. It's unlikely to be resolved here.

I have called Ford and have opened a case with their consumer complaint dept. Actually talked to someone who was was going to get in touch with dealer to confirm. Am waiting for a responce if I don't get vfc one I will call back.
Yes I have driven in different modes and the vibration is not noticable in sport or tow. The normal mode is as bad as the echo mode, trans shifts down to fast and caused the engine to strain. They need to reprogram the normal mode to shift with less changes so early!. And no I should not have to drive in sport mode to be normal.

Today i was driving about 35-40 mph and gave slight gas to accelerate. It was about 1200 rpm and didn’t downshift. Felt like it was lugging and got a low frequency noise and slight vibration until it finally downshifted. Exactly like when you’re driving a manual trans and forget to downshift or when you almost stall it. Like the truck was trying to make power at 1200 rpm. Didn’t feel anything through the steering though…

I have 5000k and it seemed to get stronger as I drove. Got another appointment with another dealer mid month . Saga will continue till I get a real solution.

My short term solution is driving in sport mode. Under light acceleration the shift points seem more appropriate, around 2500-3000 instead of below 2000. I don’t like the engine braking but I’ll take that over lugging the engine. Normal mode seems to shift to higher gears way too soon

You are absolutely right I have been playing with sport mode and the only thing I don't like is it holds 5th gear too long you almost have to give it gas to shift at 45-50. What urks me most is I've never had a car vibrate and chug in normal mode. Love stick shift but you have the choice to shift into any gear you like and you know what the outcome will be. Chugging or revving Or burning rubber! Ford's normal mode is the same as eco and it sucks!
