Retail vs Dealer

So when I placed my 23 order, my dealer made a screw up and clicked save instead of submit. After going back and forth they have transferred my order to a dealer allocation if I am understanding them correctly.
This explains why when I call ford they can not find my order.

With that being said, what does this mean for me, does this move me way down in the scheduling because it is listed as a “dealer order”?

Advice is appreciated


Btw, this also means until I get a vin, I will have to keep calling my dealer for updates because ford will most likely email the dealer with updates instead of me

That's how I got a priority 10 and I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow. The sales guy cc me the emails from ford so I can track it.

At least that's what I assume he did because on the side of my truck there was a sticker that said special order and retail.

To be fair whether it's in your name or not they can sell it to anyone they want ask anyone on the board that this has happened to.

Unlikely you will get a truck anytime soon. Ford isn't going to choose to build "stock/dealer" orders until they fill all the customer orders. I see your badge says hybrid? Was it a hybrid you wanted? If so, zero chance you get it. Literally zero. There are thousands and thousands of hybrid orders from customers that aren't going to be built. Stock/dealer order for a hybrid? Not going to happen.

Your dealer really screwed you by not submitting the order when they could.

Your dealer likely has NOT been allowed to order any dealer stock yet. Sorry to bear bad news. He's putting you on a list for when he might get to order (an Ecoboost).

Well to be fair I haven’t gotten a lot of updates from my sales manager because he was in a pretty bad car wreck. Saw it on our local news. I believe he is still out on medial. The dealership is in a small town where everyone knows everyone

You make it sound so easy. You're right but add in 16 months of screwing around (for me) and you've got it.

Sadly Ford has already overbooked Hybrid production for 2023, so it means you probably won't get a truck at all. Your only shot would be an ecoboost for 2023.

Half of the 2023 Hybrid orders from customers will not be built, as they were oversold. If the dealer is allowed to order anything, it will be an ecoboost. Your dealer let you down...way down.

yea ain’t we all aware. But people who ordered 23xlt hybrids on opening day are getting theirs. So it can’t be just they fact that Covid destroyed the world’s infrastructure system.
