Okey, it has been annoying me.

Why is it that my former Ford Flex, current Maverick and Interceptor have the steering wheel controls opposite?

On the Maverick the radio, and menu controls are opposite, why are they not consistent across all models?

Fuel fill is also on the opposite side.

I spend more time in my Interceptor than I do in my Maverick, so it annoys me that I have to look down at the wheel and guage cluster to figure out the radio, menu, and which side to pull up to the pumps.

Please Ford, become consistent.

Rant, whine, moan mode disengaged.

Great question. I was just complaining (again) to my wife about that today. Our Flex has the wiper control on the left stalk and on our Escape it's on the right stalk. Yes Ford, be consistent.

Add an option for a rear window defroster.

I miss my Crown Vic.

Only have 4 more years, then I get to become a greeter at Walmart and laugh at the pups.

Boy, I hear you there. I am a transit driver for our local Ford dealer for the last four years. I have driven all the models and it is aggravating that almost every time I drive, I have to look down at the steering wheel, signal lever arm or right side wiper lever arm, (if equipped) to see how that model operates. Then, most Ford models have fuel filler on driver side, but certain model years have it on passenger. You always have to look at fuel gauge for indicator. I admit, it gets old.

One would think, just for improved safety they would be consistent. Taking eyes off the road is not a good thing.

I hope @Ford Motor Company will read this thread.

I also feel this LOL. I've found the differences to mostly be between newer and older Fords. But the two stalks vs one for turn signals and wipers is a European thing. That has slowly been migrating over to the States, especially on cars that have a European counterpart on their platform (Focus is worldwide, Escape = Kuga, Fusion = Mondeo, Transit Connect and C-Max too).

For the radio and cruise controls, sometimes they're confusing to me but I'm getting the hang of them with muscle memory pretty quick. I'm sure an engineer has an explanation for why gas fillers are on different sides of the vehicle, my guess is it's probably a packaging thing.

As someone that used to sell Fords I didn't have this issue. The steering wheel controls were consistent across all models. Fuel tanks are likely due to the architecture of the vehicle and where they can properly install it.

Ford may have changed their interior designs since but at least when I was there in 18 they were all consistent

Lol maybe its a hybrid issue, but Maverick and my Prius controls are same side and function. Only big difference is high beams. Maverick is either push or pull. And Prius is opposite.

My first was an 94bCaptice non LT1, was in after that went up in flames until getting an Interceptor sedan. The Interceptor controls are just like my Flex was. The Maverick total opposite.

Keep making them pay out that monthly money, brother. I hope to make them pay for 20+ years after I say, screw it.
