No. Because there are a few dozen things poorly done. Yes, it's an economy entry level vehicle and a poorly done entry level vehicle at the same time.Well .... there will be folks that buy a Maverick and their motor craps out. Transmission failures, hose busts, coolant leakage, windshield rattle, the list goes on and on however its really no different with any manufacturer. I was doing some work at my Lexus dealer the other day and one of their techs was replacing the motor in a 21 GX460 under warranty - some weird casting flaw. A 65K vehicle. The owner was screaming - THIS IS NOT A WELL BUILT TRUCK!!!! .... no not really.
That's why there is a warranty - usually any major problems will show up before the warranty expires. I have a 2021 Ram Promaster Van and that Dodge product is such a POS I bought an extended warranty - engine issues, transmission fails - all common on Chryslers. I always laugh when I see posts like yours because the reality is mechanical things break, sometimes you have to get things repaired and NO vehicle is bulletproof besides my 1986 Toyota 4x4 with a 22R 4 banger. (THAT is bulletproof ) To say "This is a Ford FAIL!" really ? Isnt that being a bit dramatic ?
That's some solid info- Hope this helps folks -Pretty sure what you are experiencing is the same problem as some of the the Hybrid Escapes are having.
HF45 Transmission – Rattle Noise On Cold Start – 2020-2022 Ford Escape

The 2020 Hybrid Escape actually sounds just like this and Ford issued multiple TSB's for it - turns out to actually be the transmission making the noise and not the engine - Same model transmission as the Maverick The HF45.
SSM 49411: 2020 Escape -HF45 Transmission -Rattle Noise On Cold Start Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with a HF45 transmission may exhibit a rattle noise on cold start up when only when engine is running. This noise may be more prevalent in cold weather conditions, typically at or below 0ŒC (32ŒF). Engineering is currently working to resolve this issue. Inform customers that Ford is working on a solution expected in January. In the interim, let the customer know that the vehicle is safe to drive, and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late January. Once the solution becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates. Transmission replacement may not correct this concern. Sounds like this really isn't the vehicle for you. If your opinion is so poor of the Maverick why would you even want one ?No. Because there are a few dozen things poorly done. Yes, it's an economy entry level vehicle and a poorly done entry level vehicle at the same time.
Keep wondering the same thing...Sounds like this really isn't the vehicle for you. If your opinion is so poor of the Maverick why would you even want one ?
My C-Max Hybrid makes odd noises every once in a while....but I didn't buy it for its noises or quiet. As long as nothing bad happens, and it continues to get me great mileage with no jerky drive behavior...I really don't care if it needs to emit belches or "passes gas"once in a while. I used to comfort myself that I had a warranty just in case... But now after 5 years with this one, I don't even worry at all.Well .... there will be folks that buy a Maverick and their motor craps out. Transmission failures, hose busts, coolant leakage, windshield rattle, the list goes on and on however its really no different with any manufacturer. Of course but it gives them an idea on a fix. Up until this point my truck and others with this issue just sat at the dealership while they scratched their heads.Problem with the Escape Service bulletins helping on the Maverick... Even if it's the exact same issue vs. The dealer use it to fix the issue doesn't Ford need to issue one for the Maverick? I don't think they can extrapolate from the Escape.
Not just clickbaiting, but fear-mongering is my issue here. The lemon profile photo is over the top too. The OP may not be alone in having this "major" issue, but he is clearly festering on it.Can the OP change the title to name the actual problem? Its just click bait now
Sorry man. What can I change about my post and my profile to please you?Not just clickbaiting, but fear-mongering is my issue here. The lemon profile photo is over the top too. The OP may not be alone in having this "major" issue, but he is clearly festering on it.
I believe that has only been reported when remote starting. I forget the details, but maybe some reported glowing cats as well?I do not have the issue mentioned, my maverick was delivered last month.
I can say, I do not like how the Maverick cold start has a high idle. I can start the truck with my phone and when go out to the vehicle, the engine is racing At high rpm.
Advertising? Hype on MTC? Need a small truck? Had lots of potential?Sounds like this really isn't the vehicle for you. If your opinion is so poor of the Maverick why would you even want one ?
