Get the cops involved… that always works out in your favor😂

Drive real fast down I-75 once you get pulled over give the cop a bunch of sht. They’ll call the drug dog and get it sorted out for you.
Anything else? I’m full of useless information today ✌
Oh yeah and give them legal advice and tell them you know lawyers. They LOVE THAT . They will make sure you get your call, i.e. your phone and clothes are in storage. Your ride had been towed, and win or lose you got to pay someone for the tow and storage.

I am of the "never talk to cops" persuasion. I would follow that in this case.

No smell driving home today. Beginning to think that the pizza incident was just a bizarre one-off. No explanation as to why the truck would reek for three days.

As for the other incidents, it's probably FL being FL. Everyone smokes pot in this state, and given that my husband happened to smell it as well, it was probably someone toking it up in their garage trying to escape from relatives during the holiday season.

So, you got my truck... and here I was blaming Ford H.O. for screwing up my deal. I have a buddy at the Hermosillo plant, and he was going to pack the door panels full of weed so I can cover the dealer mark-up over MSRP. LOL

disclaimer... Canadian here.... Are the police really that bad down there? I wouldn't even hesitate to go to a police station for this here if I had even the slightest suspicion that someone had planted drugs in my vehicle.. No police here would think you were the one who had the drugs and voluntarily came to the police station for help...

My own personal experience with police officers or state troopers in the US, admittedly only 3 times that I can remember have all been courteous and fair, once for speeding in NY State, once for accidentally bypassing a toll both in Pennsylvania and the third was in Florida, circa 1980'ish, can't recall what but likely speeding, lol.. The missing toll booth incident turned out to be more comical than anything, I hadn't realized that I had driven through the bypass at the time, was pulled over several miles past and the officer asked if I knew what I had been puled over for. I asked the question, speeding? He laughed and said no. He told me what had happened and explained that this happens often at that spot with people unfamiliar with the setup. He wished us a good trip and drive safely. In short my experience with both our police and yours (although very few interactions) is positive. I do recall one other situation driving through Detroit, heading for Florida, circa early 80's in a rented RV with our kids on board, where we pulled off the highway for gas, got a little turned around, stopped to ask directions and a Detroit police car pulled over behind us. He explained this was not a good area and escorted us back to the highway. This was obviously pre gps days. ymmv but my experiences have always been positive.

Is the paranoia really that bad there?

So...... Have you asked your husband about the possibility of him sneaking out of the house and having a little "smoke" in your Mav? Just asking....... Oh, do not worry that he will be offended; if your marriage is a really "strong one", it will withstand little suspicions and questions like this. I would give you my phone number for further advice, but I am an unemployed marriage counselor and out looking for work in some other field!o_O:LOL:

Mine as well, just like every profession you are going to have bad examples and that is sad. I would never be in law enforcement, even if it was the top paying job on the planet. Too much stress and to many variables in even the most innocent of situations.
In this situation I would want to know and take it to my dealer for a weird odor coming from my vehicle if it continues to happen. But that is just me.

I might have missed it, but I would NOT take it to the police and have them check it out. Google civil asset forfeiture.

They might not arrest or charge you, but there is nothing stopping them from taking your Maverick because of the war on drugs leaving you with thousands of dollars in legal fee's and years of fighting it.

If it keeps coming back, take it to a detail shop that removes smoke from vehicles and have them give it a shot.

I bought a Chevy a couple of years ago, didn’t drive it very much, but when I did, it smelled of burning cigarettes. I looked online & some people complained of the same thing, but no definitive answers. I figured one of the prep guys at the dealership played a joke with hiding a cigarette somewhere along the exhaust or it may have been bar code labels on the exhaust burning off.

Manufacturers put bar code labels on many of the parts now to keep track of inventory & for computers to scan along the assembly line to confirm parts were installed…

It took 6 months or more for whatever it was to burn off.
