I have a set of these same tires awaiting the arrival of my hybrid Mav in Feb…..March……April. Good to know they handle 14” show. I’ve always said that AWD is not needed if you’ve got FWD with a GOOD set of tires.I haven't decided yet. I've still got the stock tires in the garage, might find some used Ford Escape rims and just swap the two sets based on the season. I know all weather tires don't preform as well in the heat of summer, and tend to cost MPG. Have to figure out if the cost of the rims outweighs the fuel savings of running the all seasons from April to late October/early November, over the life of the two sets.
I got the Nokian's primarly because I couldn't get Cross Climates until February or March, but I had no intention of going through winter without at the very least some all weather tires. I had Cross Cimates on my previous mid-size sadan, ran them all year long. They were good tires and handled winter snow very well. I am undecided as to which is better, I think the Cross Climates were a little less slippy on compact snow, but the Nokian's are brand new so they aren't even broken in yet, since new tires are a little slick for the first 150 miles or so, at least thats what the tires guys used to tell me away.
