If your dealer has enough allocations for the year, I say don't touch it. You will regret not having the extra tow capacity in the long run more than waiting an extra month or two for your truck. EB orders are still way under capacity.

Makes sense, thank you for the advice. He told me something about making my order a number 10 priority. How would you find out if they have allocations?

Keep it or at least just get the hitch. Have him make it priority 10 that's the highest priority that they can set it too. Then wait, most dealers will not tell you their allocations.

They would have to tell you. Most won't.

I want the additional towing capacity provided by the 4K package and, given the EB production capacity, I'm leaving it on my order. Fingers crossed to have it in the driveway by July!

I imagine that it will be allocated to packages before added as a standalone. Keep it as part of the 4K.

Do NOT remove that package!!! If it slows down your build, well you will have a truck that is much more salable in the future.

No reason to not take it unless it is a make or break cost issue on the overall price / monthly payment.

Better for resale value, better cooling regardless if you're towing, ability to tow down the road if you need it, and its a cheap add on. Keep it.

The 4K Towing Package is not currently on Ford's list of constraints for the Maverick. Standalone trailer hitches are, but the Luxury, Tremor and 4K Tow packages must have sufficient hitch availability to meet demand because Ford hasn't flagged them.

That said, no reason to take it off your order. I actually added it to my 2022 order a couple months after ordering and am really glad I did. The AWD Ecoboost with FX4 and 4K Tow is the most capable Maverick Ford offers in terms of overall performance.
