4k Tow Package structural / physical differences to non-tow-package?

gear ratio in axles is changed with towing package.

To get the Tow package option, you have to upgrade to the Ecoboost engine, 8-speed transmission, and the AWD. It's the AWD that comes with the multilink Independent Rear Suspension versus the twisted axle on the FWD models.

Right so I have the AWD on a non 4K tow the components are the same

I believe the rear coil springs are one inch longer and about a 25 lbs heaver rating . This is experience from installing a lift kit.
