I also just looked at the OEM parts list and it looks like they only have two different sets of springs, PZ6Z-5560-B (left) and PZ6Z-5560-A (right) for the 4wd Tremor which gives a 1 inch rise in ride ht and then all other trims get NZ6Z-5560-L (left) and NZ6Z-5560-J (right). Since my Lariat AWD w/ the 4K tow doesn't look to have any extra ride ht, it obviously has the later of the two spring sets. And then being it's not an FX4 model, it must have the twin tube shocks which are typically softer riding then mono tube.

So with regards to OEM suspension products, doesn't look like anything could be altered to soften up the ride. And I don't see any after market shocks or springs yet to possibly soften up the ride while keeping the same ride ht, just products to lift or lower.

And I did put different tires on it. I didn't like the Michelins that it came with. They were not quite aggressive enough and where a little noisy. I went to Pirelli Scorpion AS PLUS 3 which the Tire Rack listed as "best in class". They look good, are a little more aggressive, are quiet, and handle really well, but unfortunately, ride a little stiffer. Oh well.

Thanks for confirming that, @Gary L. That's as I suspected. I agree that any difference between the ride in FX4/standard suspension is likely only due to twin tube vs monotube shocks. However, there may not be any difference at all depending on the air pressure spec in the shocks.

They deal in lowered Miata's ? :)
Yeah, I need this: the thing that's always bothered me about my Miata is that I can actually fit my hand under it!
