Question: @fordvideoguy To simplify all this for me. I'm a new hybrid XL 23 orderer. Do I have a better chance of getting my XL if I switch to an eco boost or do you think an XL as constrained as they are, has the same chance of getting made regardless of engine? Ordered on 9/20/22 and I'm also a priority 10.
Generally, your chances improve as you go up with the trim and switch over to EB.

Ford obviously makes more selling Ecos than hybrids. Why they're priced the same is beyond me. With my 23 loaded Lariat hybrid ordered it would cost me $2200 to switch to the eco since AWD is standard on the Lariat eco and that adds $2200. While some need AWD I really don't and I'm not willing to give up 10 mpg going from hybrid to eco to get AWD. But... if that switch means I'll get a truck in 23 it would be tempting.

As many have said, Ford could and should have handled orders much differently. Orders should have been cut off when they reached the expected build number. Ford and my dealer should be able to look at my order and tell me if my truck will be built in 23 or not. That is the communication I expect and it could easily be done. Instead, Ford keeps us hanging hoping we'll either wait or buy another Ford product. Incredibly unprofessional and unethical!

We have had 25 allocations available the last 2 weeks with zero scheduled.
How about trading one of those allocations to my dealer so I can get my truck!!

It isn't reasonable, it's a bait and switch.

Hybrid is standard. Ford knows how many they can produce. They allowed that vast majority of orders to be Hybrid.

The EB, at the same price, is far more profitable to build. So now Ford says "Oh we actually can't build the vehicle you ordered from us, but here, take this (arguably inferior) model that makes us more profit, and you, the consumer pay the same price.

It's absolutely a bait and switch.

Am I going to sue Ford? No. It will, however, be my first and last dealings with Ford.
It's not just EB vs Hybrid on the profitability.

I can guarantee you Ford makes more on a Hybrid Lariat Lux than they do on a base EB XL.

I went to my dealer today with a copy of the memo (he had not seen it yet). I was going to change to the EB, but he said that they did not meet their allocations and that he was certain that my truck would be built (Hybrid Lariat Lux w/ CP360). It may take longer, but I would get it. I am also getting the SIBL installed at the dealer as it look's like it is already re-constrained. I felled comfortable with his response as changing to EB would have probably guaranteed a sale for them. So in the end I save $2,200 and get the full size spare. There is always HOPE!

Just talked/texted with my salesperson on my 9/17/22 order of an XL hybrid. He said changing to an XLT hybrid wouldn't make any difference because they are both hybrids.

Thoughts?

Wondering what anyone's thoughts are about adding the Copilot 360 to my XLT (and possibly Hybrid order)? It looks like the Copilot 360 is currently not constrained. My wife has the Copilot on her 2021 Ford Edge (which the Mav is replacing) and she likes it.

Also so the backup camera on her 21 Edge (which has sync 4) shows how close you are to an object when backing up via these little bars on the side and the system beeps the closer you get. Does the Mav have anything like this as part of it's backup camera? Or is that part of the Sync system?
The little "distance estimating" bars are visible on the "fixed straight" lines that extend from the back of the truck. They are a standard part of the backup camera – (required on all new cars sold in the US nowadays). The Maverick backup camera also includes a second set of "curving" lines that appears when you displace the wheel left or right. It approximates the track the truck will follow. Turn the wheel more, and the curve tightens to match. I find it very helpful when backing into a tight spot.

As for the "beeping" that gets faster as you approach an object behind you, that feature comes with the "parking sensors" and is not standard on the Maverick - even on the Lariat . For '23, only the "maxed out" Lariat (Lux, CP360, CP360 Assist) gets those parking sensors. The exception to that rule is that they are available on "Fleet Orders" as standalone options on all trim levels (XL, XLT, and Lariat).

I asked my dealer about the spray in liner and cargo management system at $495. He knew nothing about it. He did tell me he can change my order. No Problem. He did say if I change my order I would lose my price protection. Is that true? If it is I'll stick with no bedliner and do it aftermarket. I left it off because that was one of the "constraints" at the time I placed my order (day 1 of order banks being open)

The Ford memo specifically says that making a change to an unscheduled order will not change the original order date.

I read that as well. But Tim said a few post prior: "That's what Ford is saying, I don't know if I believe it. I think because they have too many hybrid and XL orders they want to give people the opportunity to make the switch without penalty but the system doesn't let you make that change without resetting your order date. So maybe this is their best solution. I don't know. "

So it sounds like the official memo and the "system" are not in synch at this time. We are getting deep in red tape double messages at this time.

May I ask where you heard that the SIBL is already re-constrained? I am on the fence about adding the SIBL with the CMS but don't want to screw around with it just to have them be constrained again.

So to confirm the standard non sync system on the Mav coupled with Copilot 360 won't have the sensors required to produce the beeps and lines?
I'm pretty sure the "lines" are standard. It's the beeps that require the parking sensors (which comes with CP360 Assist on Lariat, or as a standalone option for fleet vehicle orders only).

Well, since both the XL and the Hybrid are constraints right now, getting rid of one of the constraints should, in theory, help. Going up in trim level to the XLT would get rid of the XL constraint.

I would like to add the spray-in liner package but I don’t want to risk tinkering with my order. I’m the second order placed at my dealership for a hybrid.

I'm a $&@+# for not reading all 31 pages but I tested this out and swapped one of my Hybrid orders for the Ecoboost on 12/14 and added AWD, no problems in doing so.

Hoping I get the EB in 5 months instead of the mandatory 16 months wait for a hybrid...
