What is EFC 10955? Is that a Ford dealer internal memo? Is it the same as this 2023MY Transition Private Offer Program Memo
Yes, that's the same thing. EFC10955 is just the "memo number". EFC = electronic Ford communication(??)

I gave up on getting a Maverick a long time ago but I still have one on order. It can't hurt to decide what to do if it ever comes in. My dealer actually does have a record of my private offer.

I have waited patiently for my Hybrid Lariat order since September 2021. It's been assigned a 22my VIN and assigned a production date only to be pushed back 7 times before being cancelled by Ford. As a 23my it has again been assigned a VIN and scheduled for production in January 2023. The reason I am walking is the dealer refuses to track down the Transitional Private Offer in the amount of $2750.

I have contacted Customer Service and marketing numerous times and they both agree that I am in the right but they say there is nothing they can do since it is a dealer issue. The self professed Maverick expert at CS (Heather) says only the dealer can correct this and she knows of a resource other than the inventory manager but she won't share that with me the customer.

The dealer sales manager read me an email today from his inventory manager that says if there is no certificate number there is nothing he can do. I truly believe that the dealer has no incentive to do the leg work for this knowing I will not buy the truck for $3k over what I was promised in 2021 and he will now have the opportunity to sell it to a desperate customer for $5k over MSRP.

I don't blame Ford; even though their reorder process is F'ed up, I blame my dealer Sheehy Ford Springfield Va. Funny thing is last month a salesman at the stealership told me he still has a personal outstanding Maverick order from 2021 - I wonder if he plans to bend over with vaseline for his purchase.

Tonight I went to another Ford dealer and picked up a 2022 Mustang in eruption green with a 6 speed. I don't think I will miss my Maverick much. No reason to get mad over this; it's just a F'ing truck.
The only reason not to get mad is your own health. That would tick me off royal. I actually went to a 2nd dealer 20 miles away (DeSoto Ford) because the nearest dealer in Port Charolotte jerked me around. DeSoto was great. Yeah, they hoped I'd cancel but never pushed.

This makes me glad I didn't go with Sheehy. I considered ordering mine through one of the big dealers like Koons or Sheehy in NoVA thinking my fulfillment odds would be better. Glad I went with a smaller one; they've been treating me well. No markups, and the inventory guy is great to work with. Glad you're enjoying the Mustang.

At the end of the day, it is Ford's Company name and logo on that truck. It is their product and they can pass the buck all they want, but it comes down to it being the fault of Ford Motor Company. They developed the vehicle, they set the policies and they set up business with this dealership. It is Ford that should unscrew this mess as they are the one's that created it.
Sort of.

I would say many of the problems here in the US of A come from LOBBYING. The dealership lobbying is strong- they have manufacturers tied into a system that worked 80 years ago but is outdated now. (Tesla and Ford's new "electric dealer" model show the way forward).

Many of our other issues (pharmacy & healthcare prices, college lunacy, etc...) also come from Lobbying and congress....

With all of these problems going on, I tried to advise someone new on Facebook to check their order monthly to ensure all was progressing as expected...and some absolute fool tried to tell me there was no reason to do anything but wait for emails from Ford. Even after I related some issues from here, the fool proceeded to say it was stupid to try to keep an eye on what happens. Maybe he was a dealer wanting to grab some extra ADM. SMDH. It shouldn't be this hard...but it is.

I guess I do not understand. What else are we suppose to do? I can't call the Ford CEO and have him bump me up inline. I mean if there is stuff we can do please let us know. I checked with my dealer and he said he all we can do is wait.

FWIW I think I am likely done as well. I don't think I will get my truck in the next 12 months, so I am making other arrangements. I have already babied my van for longer then I should have, I need a new ride in 2023, I am thinking Frontier? Assuming I can even find one of those?!

There have been all sort of folks who ordered and all went smoothly. There are also a lot of folks who have had to hand-hold their dealers to get things done properly and timely (by paying attention to folks like @fordvideoguy who keeps us apprised as to what is really happening). And there is a third group that just trusted everything would happen as it was supposed to happen and it didn't. Some of those folks are rightfully very angry and disappointed, generally due to failures by the dealer to do as Ford instructed them. This failure to carry over the Private Offer (subject of this thread) is just one problem issue. 22s with VIN cancellations who did not get properly dropped to Priority Code 2 by the 11/30 deadline are another.

There isn't a lot to do if you are a new 2023 order except 1. Look for an email verifying your order is received at Ford (or contact Ford if you don't get it and verify they have your correct email) and 2. Ford says it will keep in touch every 45 days (if they have your email), so expect to receive those and contact them if you don't. Its a free phone call or chat contact. 3. Wait patiently and follow any news that things change... Remember, they NEVER, EVER cancel an order that has a VIN assigned...Until they did for thousands of us.

There were a LOT of things left to do by dealers or customers who ordered 2022s that didn't get built as Ford and dealers struggled through the re-ordering process. The 2023 new orders from September should be straight forward, but it is anyone's guess when those orders will be built.

I can say I wouldn't be getting this truck if it wasn't for this forum and Tim Bartz. It is incredibly important to stay up to date and educated about what's going on. My first 10-11 months was pure waiting with 1-2 updates from Ford and ZERO from my salesman. The last 1-2 months have gone from getting scheduled for a 22, being cancelled, following all the transition requirements, and educating my salesman on what is happening and making sure he actually did it (which he didn't). Patience, education, patience, doing my saleman's job, and more patience was critical. Had no idea what I was signing up for. Never would have waited this long if I did. Will never put myself through this again.

Makes sense I guess. I am a new order for September, so it sounds like you holdover folks had a bunch of hoops to jump thru.

Unfortunately, It feels like the chances of me driving a ford (any ford) in the next 5 years are likely decreasing every day! We recently purchased a new Telluride, that was much easier than this nonsense.

I expect to get the next 45 day email from ford soon.........

I'm hoping the process for new orders goes a lot easier..and faster, which it sounds like it is. I hear good things about Kia so that Telluride should be a great new vehicle for you(plus they look amazing so congrats!). If you're willing to wait, you'll definitely get one. I've been looking at other vehicles for sure, just nothing else really compares for me, especially at that price point. Most of my vehicle likes are about double the price. When I sell the Maverick in 5-6 years I'd like to see where electric vehicles are and hopefully upgrade to one. Just have to get this one first!

Emphasis on the faster?!!!

The telly is a nice ride, its the family car, and it does its job well. Its barely broken in and I have zero complaints. Price was better than most of the other offerings I mean have you seen how much they want for a damn Tahoe!

I am with you about how nothing compares. I might just end up waiting or finding some jalop to drive until the Mav is ready. As much as I hate waiting there is nothing that even comes close to the value proposition for me. I need to be able to haul kids, haul stuff, (I am in RE/contractor) and not cost $50k and get 20 MPG! Even worn out F150s cost more then the Mav.

I keep telling myself the silver lining on having to wait so long is if I rolled into 2024 hopefully its a PHEV by then!

Faster meaning some who just ordered this September have build dates already. I'll hopefully get my date soon. Yeah, the f150 prices are crazy. My dad has been looking. Hoping those come down soon. I did just see an XL Maverick for sale here locally. 23k but went fast. If you look long enough, they do come available and for reasonable prices. Just have to act fast.

I called the Ford marketing department to check on the status of my truck and that's when they told me it was scheduled to be built the week of January the 9th and delivered on January 23rd. She also went ahead and gave me a certificate number for my private offer. You could try calling for directly and get it.

Damn I feel for you. That's a bunch of BS. I live roughly an hour from Springfield, VA. When shopping my Maverick, I called and visited every Ford dealer within an hour from me (some even further). All of that research led me to one conclusion. I will NEVER give ANY Sheehy or Koons dealer my business now or in the future! Even for a special order they wanted over msrp. And most of the people I dealt with treated me like I was stupid trying to convince me my payment would be "blah, blah, blah". As if I wouldn't realize the mark-up and BS.

Ultimately, I chose Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie, MD. They are a reputable family-owned dealer and treated me well. They are admittedly smaller than the competition, though did not charge over msrp for special orders. And both the dealer and myself signed on the purchased price, they were easy to work with, and they kept every promise they made. I'd recommend them to anyone. (Shout out to Van, my salesman)

I'm just letting you know in case it's helpful to you in the future. Enjoy your Mustang!
