The (now expired) Private Offer I posted in #5 above appears to have been applicable to Mavericks as well for a limited time. It's not to be confused with the 22-23 Maverick Rollover Private Offer for non-built 22's.

It's difficult to determine what occured in this thread w/o the actual email from Ford that has not been provided....

What most people refer to as a Maverick Private Offer is for those that ordered a Meverick in 2021, did not get it delivered, and then had to re-order in September 2022. This was to partially make up for the fact that the price of a Maverick went up by $1750 for a Ecoboost and $2750 for a Hybrid. When some-one re-ordered in September of 2022, they were now price protected to the September 2022 date and not to what-ever the price was in 2021 when they ordered. Unfortunately, Ford totally screwed this up and lots of folks that were supposed to get the Private Offer never did (something I am currently dealing with).

There are also other Ford Private Offers that are not associated with roll-over from one model year to another. These are often $250, $500, $750, or $1000. As to why some people get these and others do not is somewhat a mystery (somehow related to marking, geography, or if you bought new Fords from a dealer in the past). It is possible that a Private Offer is specific to a certain vehicle (Ford Lighning, Mach-E, etc.). Without more details, it would be extremely hard to know what type of Private Offer you have and for what dollar amount. When I talk to Ford Marketing, I have no less than 7 different Private Offers in the system ranging from $250 to $500 (but not the $2750 Private Offer I am actually entitled to). Typically, only 1 Private Offer can be used for a purchase (in my case, I have a $500 Private Offer I can use for a Maverick in case that Ford screws me out of my $2750).

Hope that helps.

Thanx, Ford complicates the uncomplicated!

RockHoundTX,

I was a 2022 to 2023 rollover and I found out that the dealer had a typo in my address for the rollover order so Ford never generated the private offer code. I’d like to say it’s something I’m dealing with as well, but the dealership has done nothing and won’t answer any emails, so I don’t know that there’s any progress to be made at this point. It’s really frustrating. Any pointers you have would be appreciated.

If they gave you the private offer code, then your dealership can insert it into the Ford application, called smartvincent or something like that.

Even the dealership I bought my Maverick last Friday, was able to put it in the system. It’s too bad my dealership tried to take it as profit, claiming it doesn’t count. I had to remind him that it does count and that I’m price protected from the order date. It took me 2 1/2 hours of arguing with them.
The dealer is not required to give you price protection for price changes in the same model year. Ford wants them to give you the money but the dealer can keep the money if they want.

I received a PO without asking for one. Ford Marketing tells me it is no good on the Maverick?

I believe you are talking about a “traditional” private offer. I’m talking about the transitional private offer for those of us who had 2022 orders which weren’t fulfilled and had to rollover to a 2023 order

Yes, you are absolutely right, a dealer can do all kinds of nasty things. But a good dealer that has integrity will do the right thing such as price protect the customer order. A good dealer won’t add on extra items to a customer who has placed their order.

There are certain expectations that a customer will have when they place a Customer order with a dealership. When those expectations are not met, then the buying experience is unsatisfactory.

When you read my response/disclosure, you will notice that I had named another Ford dealership where I had placed an order and purchased a PHEV Escape with an excellent buying experience.

This is why a lot of people have turned to buying the Tesla vehicles. There are no shenanigans when a customer orders and buys whatever Tesla car/SUV.
