I will gladly accept the AWD and increase HP/Torq in the 2.0T. My daily drive is a Cx5 turbo and having that extra push and AWD is nice.
Where will you be able to use that in Maryland? Are you in the country somewhere?

Here's a Maverick EcoBoost 2.0L AWD window sticker!

The EcoBoost 2.0L AWD Engine only has an EPA 25 MPG overall rating, 29 MPG Highway and an abysmal 22 MPG for city driving.

Compare to:
FWD EcoBoost Maverick rated for 26 MPG overall
Hybrid Maverick trip computer showing 37.4 MPG

Glad that I am holding out for my Hybrid Maverick and the 40 MPG city rating (hopefully)

90% of my miles driven are city, stop and go, short trips.

With the Ford 360 package, due to the safety features, you will save on your Vehicle Insurance as well! I already had a prelim quote done and my insurance from a Mazda CX 5 was about 1200 per 6 months... now with this vehicle will drop down to about $700-800.00 per 6 months. (as I recall, it was weeks ago).

I have a 2000 F350 Super Duty Crew cab with a 7.3L diesel and an 8 foot bed with 187,000 miles and the turbo is still going strong with no problems. Likewise I also have a 2016 Escape with the 2.0L Turbo engine with 89,000 miles on it and no problems. Both vehicles follow the recommended service schedule from Ford. Only issue I have is the 40 gallon tanks on the F350 which get rather expensive to fill, although it gets 17mpg.
I have a gas Toyota Sequoia that only gets about 16-18mpg HWY. other than that it has been a great vehicle but it is time to change.

2400 a year?? That is eye watering. Might want to shop around. Granted I drive a 9 year old honda fit but im only at 550 a year. I'm expecting my mav to be double that but whatever

I got an estimate this morning for my incoming Maverick and Frontier. The Maverick was $120/month and the Frontier was $140/month. MAX because I did not have Vin#'s for an exact quote. This is a quote for urban/city rates which will be reduced when I move to the country probably before I get either vehicle.

I ordered EcoBoost for my XLT. Is the Turbo going to require premium gas?
From what I hear you can run 87 octane BUT 91 is better to keep it clean and reduce problems(carbon buildup if I recall correctly). Apparently gas mileage will not be affected by the higher octane. It is a maintenance issue only.

I just checked... MSRP is at least $38k for diesel - not available on the lowest trims.

My friend paid $24,000 for his, used.... but at the time it was retailing for $29,000 - $32,000 - somewhere in that range. A couple months ago, I was willing to buy a Colorado and not buy the Maverick and wait but now looking at the prices, holy cow. They are nice, durable, and have a good reputation but they aren't worth $38,000 upwards!

So basically, pointing back to your comment... there really isn't anything new on the market that beats the Maverick on price and gas mileage. My friend got lucky but anyone buying a Colorado today will have to spend about $40k - which is OK if you have a larger trailer to pull but even then, when he pulled an RV trailer, he was getting 18mpg (as expected).

I am sure when we begin to use our Mavericks to pull, we can expect about the same!
The answer is a Nissan Frontier for hauling 6700lbs tow capacity "4x2" $27840 + $1175 shipping for the 2022 model. 2021 are cheaper and still available.

Understand completely I will find out when I get my Maverick if 4k will do the job, if not I will sell it and probably buy another Ranger after the update. I had a Frontier, Colorado, Ranger and all 3 did the job I required of them so I could live with any one of them again but hoping by downsizing my trailer I can manage with the Maverick.
Have you gone to www.towcalculator.com . It can tell you exactly if you are within the limits. You also want to have a buffer.

"Opportunity cost" is one of the fundamental concepts of personal finance. If you are an adult, in charge of your own finances, and don't understand the term 😲...well, that is the primary reason we have individuals who make so little they don't even pay federal income tax, but are walking around with 6-figures in high-interest student loan debt and taking out 84-month loans for cars.

You mean I lose opportunity if I don't budget and live within my means?

You are so correct! I heard a finance guy say the majority of Americans can not "write a $500 check" in an emergency. The problem is the system forces people to get credit to get a high credit rating. If you don't get enough credit and keep it clean even you car insurance goes up. Most people do not have the ability to do that and easy credit gets out of hand.

Be careful though because your post, as well as mine, is too close to the truth and might be considered political and get deleted by the admin.

What trailer are you considering? I am looking at a Shasta Oasis 21CK. It is about 3950 dry.

No, I like that extra push to merge on the interstates, beltways, and changing lanes. The AWD is nice for my fishing trips, backroads, and for winter(mild).

Many of us are choosing the Ecoboost 2.0 for reasons other than mpg:

1) Towing - I plan to tow a trailer that is close to 2,000 lbs. (the Hybrid Maverick cannot safely or sensibly do that)

2) AWD - I live in CO and desire the benefit of an AWD vehicle in the winter (the Hybrid Maverick of at least this first model year cannot do that)

In a perfect world it would be nice to ALSO have the approaching 40 mpg highway that the Hybrid gets, but for me the other 2 considerations are MUCH more important. Of course, others' requirements are different, making the decision of which model truck to get come out differently than what I have decided to get.

In my case I will be getting rid of a Crosstrek that has been a wonderful vehicle for me and that gets ~34 mpg highway mileage, but I now need something that can tow, so the ECO 2.0 liter AWD Maverick is a solution. Personally, getting 4,000 towing AND almost 30 mpg is a real win - I have seen nothing else out there at any price point that can tow that much and match that mpg.

ML
Change the location to BC Canada and the "getting rid of" vehicle to a Golf Alltrack and this is the exact position I'm in. Give me the Mav in a Hybrid that can tow 4k lbs with AWD and I'll sign up right now.

Great, sounds like you have a well rounded life. That is what it is all about. A friend of mine use to go to Canada to fish on lakes you needed a pontoon plane to get to. The fish, he said, were totally different in taste.

87 will definently be ok to use but you wont make 250HP on that though-

Florida rates are driven by the threat of Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Hail, Flooding and oh so much more - all the darn drivers from other states! Ha!
