Started back in August, when they claimed I was past due, owing over we $300. Proved them wrong then. Owed nothing in Sept. Paid usual $200 anyway. Owed $41 in October, paid usual $200 again. November, said I was past due $41. Plus regular payment. Paid $200 as usual. Now, they claim I'm past due $188 from November, now owing well over $350!!! November paid on the 16th, 12 days ahead of schedule. Can prove I paid ahead of schedule as well.
Can't get loan from bank, to pay of the small balance due, to get Ford and their constant errors, out of my hair!!
Can't, and won't recommend people use Ford Credit for purchase!!

How are you making your payments - mailed check, online, etc?

Do you have a Ford Owner account (same username/password as you'd use for FordPass on your smartphone, just need to link the Ford Credit account to it) to log in and view your account statements? Might help to reconcile what payments they show received and when, how much went to principal vs. interest, compared to how much was due.

Mine is setup on autopay, no issues so far...

You can set it up for automatic payments.....that makes it super easy and you won't have to mess with errors/mail delays/whatever.

I have financed with Ford credit several times including on the Mav. Never had a single issue. I do also have auto pay set up for all my payments.

For those that have used Ford before, can I set up extra principle on autopay? I like to round up to the next $100 and dump the difference on the principle but I have found some banks won't include that function as part of the autopay.

There is no such option on the enrollment form, unfortunately. You can easily log in and make an additional principal only payment - autopay will still deduct the monthly amount. But, you would have to do that each month, as you cannot choose a manual payment date past the current due date (can't set up 12 months of additional payments at once so as to not worry about it each month, for instance).

IT would help everyone if you were clearer on the issue. From you post it is evident you are upset, but its not clear what the real issue is.

I've had my Maverick since March, and I've had one hic-up with Ford Motor Credit, I called them, the customer Service agent saw the issue, he took off the late payment, and I set up auto payment ever since.

Ugh. If I have to go on the app to pay the round-up every month and there is no "discount" for autopay, I may not bother with it.

Will Ford not let you autopay with a credit card instead of bank account? I don't let anyone dip into my account directly, plus I'd get AMEX points if I could do it that way. Been awhile since I last financed with Ford directly.

How many lenders allow you to make loan payments with a credit card (debt)? Never seen that before, autopay or otherwise. Not even a debit card.

Plus, there are hefty fees to accept credit cards, higher for card-not-present transactions, that would wipe out my 1.9% interest rate.

I have no debt, so really couldn't say! Like I said, been awhile, that's why I was asking about options.

Capital One allows a debit card, but adds a $3.40 fee. Bank payment is free, like everyone else but annoyingly, Capital One doesn't have an autopay I can find.

No worries, it was a genuine question, since it's not necessarily a common thing, and for many people, not the best financial move (moving loan debt to credit card debt). It's different if the benefits of using the card (cash back, etc.) outweigh the cost, and the card is also paid in full every month.

I take it back, there was one credit union I'd used that would add like a $10 fee for debit and $15 for credit cards. Suppose you could've set it up on autopay if you felt like paying that fee every month.

This happened to me with GM and it wasn't GM's fault. I started getting past due bills for $3.50. Then $7.00. Then $10.50.

The city / county I live in changed the tax rules AFTER I made my purchase. So stupid and more stupid they were retro-active. But perfectly "legal" in my area. So I had to cancel and restart my auto pay arrangements $3.50 higher.

PITA but true.
