I took a screenshot but it's black, because the app detects and blocks screenshots. Prudent, given there's some financial info in it - but I don't really care about this particular screen and it would have been useful to show you guys in addition to describing it. Maybe I'll grab my wife's phone and use that to take a pic of mine.
This is the Ford Credit app, not FordPass. It's a separate app you can install if you have a loan or lease through Ford Credit. I've used it about 6 months honestly just for minor convenience of making sure payments process and looking at payoff value now and then - not really for any good reason, as I'm not intending to sell or trade my truck.
I am not sure when the feature was added, or if the Apple version has it, but today I see 'Estimated Equity' on the main page of the Ford Credit app. Clicking it, I see the following:
Estimated Equity - $4,831 (updated January 20, 2025)
Estimated Trade-in $26,600
Remaining Balance - $21,768.87
And a button that says 'Request a dealer call to discuss your trade value' which I haven't tried... because I don't want a dealer calling me, and I'm not intending to trade.
Kind of interesting and I think potentially useful. I would certainly check other vehicle value sources like KBB, Carvana, Car Max, and so on. But still, it's right there and it might be handy. Oh, and I checked the Ford Credit website. This isn't there (for me, at least). It's only in the mobile app.
