Been thinking of applying for a ford credit
Card since I already own a Maverick
And thinking of buying a second one for my wife. And I will be using ford dealer for all my service work
When I read about the reviews people aren’t to happy with it
Does anyone have any positive or negative first hand experience

I have Amazon Prime Card; using for food, gas and purchases. It generates about 1,000 per year in rebates.

Had the Ford card and had used at my Ford dealer here in Webster MA, but when they discontinued the points, closed it and went back to my 2% cash back Capital One card.

GENERALLY SPEAKING The branded credit cards can be used anywhere. When used at the brand location the points back are increased but when used at other locations the points do not accumulate at the same percentage. To max points back you will have to have several cards and use them at proper locations. Additionally if you have a branded card which offers free interest for several months or several years depending on sale price the "trap" on those cards are related to any late or missed payments. The late payment may have a significant late payment plus a missed payment can trigger cancellation of the free interest and the interest (as high as 29.9%) will revert to DAY 1 of the charge amount. These cards can be a real PIB verifying payment posts before due date and any delay of mail or transfer be resent to arrive prior to THE FREE INTEREST PAYMENT DUE DATE!
ETA: If I remember correctly the bank handling the Ford branded card cancelled their branded program an would roll the accounts of several dozen branded cards into their in house brand of cards and would no longer off the individual brands cash back programs. Ford was one of many affected.

You get 5% back on Amazon purchases. It is variable on other purchases and also depends on timed specials for some types of purchases. I use my Regions for almost everything and get points. Every 2 or 3 months I trade the points for cash. I get back over $1000 a year. I pay it off twice a month, so I never have interest.

I'll note that a couple of weeks ago, Walmart introduced a new card ("onepay") that is 5% on all Walmart purchases (compared to 5% only online , and 2% in store for their prior capital one card before the spat. You also need their at-home delivery to get the full 5%).

I got it, given that we spend a few hundred on groceries and stuff every month (and I also figure the at $1 in wear for each start of a vehicle, I'm coming out way ahead with the bonded & tipless free delivery).

But in general, my Navy Federal and Fidelity cards are both uncapped 2% everywhere, so . . .

I put a couple of tiny scratches on the sides while leaning into my bed near the gas fill door. My belt buckle,,,,

silly easterners that can't wear proper clothing without hurting themselves.
