Maverick XL spontaneously locking doors.

My truck is locking me out. Sometimes it's just the driver's door, others are still unlocked. I picked up my mail, left the truck running, and it locked all the doors! Grrrrr

Someone else here complained of the same issue but it turned out he was hitting the door lock button upon exiting his vehicle.

Sure your partner/spouse/child isn't nearby with the 2nd Key fob or Ford Pass app laughing ?

Its your XL trim rejecting the power locks. They dont really belong on it. Maybe on XLT.

My XL tried to lock me out but failed.

I went to pick up a neighbor, parked in her driveway, and got out to help her with her walker. Engine was off and I left the key in the ignition so I couldn't have bumped the lock button by mistake. (I'm not worried about someone stealing my Maverick while my back is turned; I know it would take them 5 minutes to figure out how to start a hybrid and put the rotary shifter in gear.)

When I got back to my truck the doors were locked. I said to it, "If you seriously want to lock me out, next time you'll have to roll up the windows too."

I wonder if there is some "auto lock" configuration setting buried in one of the many menus... haven't checked the useless owners manual yet.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I'm having the same problem with my XLT Lux. I am very aware of not hitting the door lock lever when opening the door. Only seems to lock the driver's door. I just automatically use the keypad to unlock it now but it's still a glitch.

Mine did it twice last week so I leave the window down when I park it for a short time.

Since starting this thread, I am still experiencing the issue. For all you smarties that suggest that accidental lock button activation is the issue, then just the driver's door locking would be very unlikely.... I have determined that if I use the "unlock" button when exiting the truck, it stays unlocked. If I use the fob leave the truck unlocked after exiting, after awhile it locks usually only the driver's door, but sometimes all four. I usually leave my window open if I'm just parking to open a gate, etc., but it's winter and I'm not happy about that! Ford Canada says they "know nothing" and Ford USA evidently doesn't share info. My dealer won't register or explore my issue until they witness the problem themselves. Until I'm not willing to give up my transportation or hang around a dealership I guess I'll just continue to resent my Maverick.

I have accidentally pushed the door lock button to the locked position a few times while getting out. It happens when I pull the handle to open the door when leaving the vehicle. I've been lucky to notice every time it has happened but I think this is what's happening to owners that are experiencing this. I wear 2XL size gloves so I find the handle used to open the door to be a little awkward and small for the size of my hands. To be clear I have pressed the actual door lock, not the switch that locks and unlocks all doors.

Does it only do it when it leave it running?
If you turn off and take key out of ignition, does it still lock?

Locks only driver's door or all doors if: Key in ignition and running, key out of ignition and in truck, or key away from truck. Also XL does not warn you if key left in truck and you lock it from door button.
