Yes, but that doesn't address the question posed in this thread. If you have a hybrid, it will make a sound when you are backing as soon as you put it in reverse. This is to warn anyone around the vehicle. When in reverse, the hybrids do it on electric power only, so the sound is need to let people know since there is no engine noise.
Well they didn't really drop it so much as put it only on the top trim for 2022. For 2023 now you have to spend even more, as it is a part of yet another package you have to add on to your Lariat w/luxury package.Ok, thanks. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something broken. I drove our old explorer for the first time in a while and it scared the crap out of me when it started beeping.
Seems kind of weird they would drop that feature it was handy and worked pretty good.
There's an old IT joke acronym:: PEBKAC - problem exists between keyboard and chair. This situation is similar.Doesn’t the steering wheel-pedals interface perform that function?

Correct. I'm also noticed other hybrids and EVs having a warning sound while in reverse. Some people here have complained about the sound the Maverick makes when doing this, but once you hear what Honda and Toyota sound like (sort of a growling noise), you will have lost your argument. If you have a hybrid, it will make a sound when you are backing as soon as you put it in reverse. To me my Maverick in reverse sound like a train bell love it .If you have a hybrid, it will make a sound when you are backing as soon as you put it in reverse. I tell everyone that the Maverick backup warning is based on the cowbell from the Rolling Stones Honkey Tonk Women. That makes it way cooler... until some kid asks who the Stones are...To me my Maverick in reverse sound like a train bell love it .![]()
