This whole thing is as bad as it gets!!! Congrats to those who are scheduled, BUT: Any 22 orders with or without VINS should have been rolled over and scheduled first unless there is a definite constraint!! Seeing like vehicles getting scheduled should NOT be happening.

Sort of like going to movie and standing in line for several hours. Suddenly fifty people are put in the line ahead of you by theater owner/manager. Then when you get to the window that showing is sold out and you will get into a future showing, IF seating is not constrained.

What?????

Put my order and deposit down at Fred Beans Ford of Exton PA down on 9/17/22. Ordered a Hybrid XL with trailer hitch and full size spare. Received my Scheduling email 10/28 for a build week of 12/5, including VIN number. Was prepared to wait till the middle of next year to hear anything, but I guess maybe It will come down to railroad engineers and truck drivers on when it gets delivered.

Wow I know that dealership, they had a XLT a couple of months back that they wanted me to buy (with a 5k markup)

Congrats!

Maybe you are all too young to remember when Auto Makers gave you two, maybe three choices.

Easy for them to bang out just two or three variants. All the customization was up to you, to do AFTER delivery.

You are right. I am not obligated to respond. I am, at this point, not really worried about whether you take my "claim" seriously.

However, as it appears you have problems with the search engine, below listed URL contains a 23-page thread which begins with the memo whose existence you question.

I am not in the habit nor have I ever been to spread BS on this forum.

Stay safe and good luck on receiving your Maverick

Good find and thanks for looking. I recall that (I was lurking at that time but had not joined and started posting). While this post does not say it is for '22 orders only, it also does not say its in perpetuity either. There have been tons of discussions of allocations over the last few months, so plenty of circumstantial evidence despite nor formal announcement it was going back to the old way.

Not saying it's right. Honestly the allocation is a shit show. But it's the system we have and don't think anyone is getting caught off guard at this point.

I understand what you are saying. The allocation system is back in use. Should anyone have been caught off guard? I do not know. I do not think anyone who ordered a MY23 Maverick should be surprised by the return to the allocation system. Now, it is possible that those who ordered a MY22 could be caught off guard? I think so. I do not know the exact numbers, but I was one of probably about forty thousand persons who had ordered a Maverick and received that memo. Those 40K persons welcomed that memo and most believed it be true. They thought that memo was directed at them, those who ordered the MY22. That thought it to be most fair for all parties. Now many, many persons did not have their MY22 orders filled. If the vehicles they ordered were not in any way constrained, could they think their order would be filled before fresh MY23 orders? Perhaps they were naive, but I do not believe they ever received a follow up memo from Ford stating the FIFO for MY22's was no longer in place and had been replaced by the allocation system. Just a combination of factors which resulted in needless hurt to customers and harm to Ford's long-term reputation in their eyes. Peace!

A guy I work with put in a Bronco order back in 2019 with them, from what I hear they get quite a few, so I figured with low trim, limited options and a dealer with alocations I'd at least be sitting for 6 or 8 months.
However I know this is not set in stone, an email is not welding metal to metal. Engineer shortage at the rail yard and lack of drivers at the philly depo is what I will be dealing with if everything goes well Hermosillo!

I'm hoping you're not meaning it as such, but this comes across as victim-blaming.

I agree Ford would probably be able to produce a noticeable percentage more if they had less choices and more standardized packages.

Is it really the consumer's fault if Ford offers all these different levels of customization and then can't follow through with them or communicate effectively about their inability to meet demand on certain options? Blaming the customer as the reason why they don't have a truck they ordered a year ago is like blaming a customer who's waited for their food for 45 minutes at Burger King for ordering a Whopper without tomato.

And yet, from what I've seen the majority of orders that just got scheduled are loaded, not stripped. Ford seems to be purposely picking the higher dollar orders.
