Blue Tooth Dongle for Apple Car Play?

I am tired of fighting the hard wired Apple Play From my IPhone to the counsel USB port. I have tried short cables, spring cables, placing the phone in the cubby. No matter what I do the cable is in the way. My question is has anyone tried a blue tooth dongle instead of the hard wired phone. If you have had success please provide your choice and where you found it with price and part number. Thanks for your help.

I too have gotten tired of the constant plug/unplugging. I researched wireless dongles and just couldn't decide. Reviews indicate nearly all of them are hit/miss. Really wish a trustworthy somebody would chime in with a unit that works reliably every time.

I use Bluetooth on my Iphone with no issues. But often have to go to Iphone Setting to re-connect the Bluetooth. I use a USB plug in the back seat to charge the Iphone while driving when on Bluetooth. Music? I normally use a Flash Drive in the USB port. I use the USB & cable port most of the time and love the ability to listen to the Iphone music and see Google Maps at the same time.

I have put Carplay2air’s in both our Mavericks and have happy with them.

Although worth mentioning that reportedly doesn't work with Mavericks without full Sync3 so Lariat Lux only.

It doesn’t. It’s only about 4” long and I have the dongle 3m-Ed under the dash just below the USB-A port. You don’t really see anything other than the USB plug.

That specific one. TNVTEC makes one that supposedly works with all trims.

I purchased this carlink 3.0 off a recommendation from a fellow forum user. And it has worked flawlessly I have I tucked under center dash. No issues yet, usually connects in 10 sec or less everytime. Link on amazon is below. Usually $30-$40 discount coupon for prime members.

Yep. This is the one I’ve used without issue in a Lariat and an XL. Connects within seconds of getting in the truck. Takes longer to select my drive mode.

I've got a brand new CarLink 3.0 (opened box) to sell at $50 plus maybe $5 shipping from Monterey, CA.
I didn't know that it works only with Apple, not Android.

This is the wireless Carplay adapter I bought for my XL. $55. Works just fine. Also bought a couple of right-angle connectors so I can tuck it away out of sight in the area underneath the USB ports. I originally bought a more expensive item (Carlink 3.0), but returned it because it wouldn't connect to my iPhone 13 Pro.
