I just noticed that the LM ad on the first page of this thread says: "Great Deal $9752 under". That means their XL for sale is actually somehow valued at $49,747. This is not misleading?
No way!! Are you telling me that there is an automobile dealership that is trying to make a deal seem better than it actually is?!?!?! Maybe we could get a sticky post for this breaking news. Have you contacted any media outlets to see if they want to do an expose on this? This, is, big.

Plenty of cheaper rides that would do the trick. $10k still buys a quality used car. That's $20k below MSRP of a loaded XLT. You can buy a good used Lexus RX 350 for $10k. That $20k saved will buy you lots of gas. The Maverick is a want not a need. You can buy a good used F150 for $10k. We all want our mavericks now but it is what it is. Please people stop using the words price gouging a Maverick is not water in a desert. It's a cool new truck that we can all live without .

Loss of all sanity of whoever is responsible for pricing them? That's all I can really say.

It's not even new, which would be a little more understandable.
Simple solution. Don't buy it. Problem solved

No worries, I am not at all in the market for any amount over MSRP for a Maverick.

I can still express incredularity.

So Rock City must be a troll that works at Long McArthur.

Per this forum, there are dealers who stopped taking 2023 orders prior to Ford's deadline because they hit their allocation. Good luck if you are one of the 800 standing in Long McArthur's line.

LM charging $40,000 for a XL with 17k miles on ad that says it's real value is almost $50,000 is not ethical IMO. I saw a rare first edition advertised at Carmax in CO for just under $50k. I thought this dealer was different.

Fun fact. Long McArthur also stopped taking orders before the banks closed......and publicly stated they did so based on what they anticipated they would receive for allocations. They looked at 2022 sales volume across the models that Ford historically based allocations on, and cut off orders when they reached that number.

But go ahead and keep calling anyone who disagrees with you a white knight, fan-boy, LM employee, or troll. It really advances the conversation.......

Notice that Rock City did not deny working at LM. He said something only an employee should know - LM kept taking orders because they did not receive info from Ford on their allocations and no other dealer was told either.

Rock City said LM kept taking orders because they did not receive info from Ford on their allocations and no other dealer was told either.
Right. They did stop taking orders based on their current year (2022) allocations for Maverick and a couple other indicator models that Ford has used to determine allocations in the past, since Ford had not given a solid number at that point and they were getting nervous. That is all they could do. Use past data to inform future estimates.

If folks are referencing those crazy spreadsheets that some dealers got that told them they would get like.....5 Mavericks total in 2023, LM was smart enough to not believe that. When the numbers are that out of whack, you gotta exclude that from your decision process.

Why do you keep repeating this lie? Dealers did not know their allocations until after order banks closed. It would be impossible for any dealer to have "hit their allocation" when order banks were open.
