So we've had it for 4 months... Great truck... But I can't park it in the garage cause it needs the splash pan drilled. But that's ok because I seem to have an airbag recall... Now I see a not on tail/brake light recall too...

Moral of the story? If I get rear ended cause the brake lights are faulty I should pray to somehow be thrown out the side of the vehicle cause those airbags supposedly may not keep the occupants I side while the fuel gathers on the splash pan and combusts... Sounds pretty kewl!

Hey the good news is that if you get rear ended, the truck will be totaled and you'll get more than you paid for it from the insurance company. Think positive!

Is yours a hybrid? I don't see any on my hybrid. What is your build date? Is there another website I could check if mine is included?

I'm only going by on what's on a link from the Ford app

https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls try here, if that doesn't work you can always call your local dealer and they can check your VIN for open recalls as well.

There was no recommendation to not park the vehicle indoors/near structures with the splash pan modification recall. And the brake light recall doesn't affect hybrids.

So kewl hyperbole.

Ok I have the airbag recall but no resolution yet due to parts constraint.

So if I don't see any other recalls (harness wiring) does that mean mine has been addressed during assembly?

Actually there is a warning to park away from structures until after recall. In FORDS press release.

That's a retelling of a KBB retelling of the press release, not a Ford Press Release verbatim. The park outside order refers to the Navigator/Expedition recall that was concurrent. None of the actual official documentation for the Maverick mentions a fire risk requiring parking outside/away from structures.

Link us to the supposed press release, not some YouTube video. I have the recall letter at home. I'll double check, but I'm virtually certain it said nothing about parking away from structures. Looking through NTSB docs on their website on this recall just now showed the same thing - nothing about parking away from structures.

Think about it for a second. The recall is to drill holes so oil can escape if there's an engine failure. I.e., failure while the truck is being driven. Car engines don't just spontaneously fail and spew hot oil everywhere while they're parked and turned off

There's no recall for the wiring harness.
There is a recall on the 4K tow wiring. I have not heard anything about it since the letter. I wish they would get on with it. We are not supposed to tow until it’s fixed.

The post you quoted was referring to the common issue of a defective 12V battery wiring harness on Maverick Hybrids. While many here have experienced the issue and had it repaired under warranty, they have not issued a recall on that part yet. There is, however, a TSB to guide dealer service techs in the repair.

Also, that post was from October 2022 whereas the 4k tow package trailer wire harness was recalled in March 2023.
