Of course, the Holy Grail would be a 2.0 EcoBoost Hybrid AWD (and if you could install the 4k towing package!) Rumored to have been in testing, but not substantiated... A run-about without limits.
Ford isn't capable of making such an intelligent move right off the bat. Could you imagine how sweet that Maverick would be? Probably ballpark 38mpg most of the time AND the ability to tow when needed? Dream even bigger: EcoBoost AWD PHEV with about 30 miles of all electric range! Game over, man, game over!

Why are people reacting to this now? We've known for a while that they can't build all the hybrids that people want. Saying that the Hybrids are a constraint means they can only schedule as many of them as the parts supply allows. We knew this when they said that only 30-40% could be made that way, and it's been like this since forever (well, it was zero percent for a while).

I really wonder about why the splash guards in particular is such a constraint. It's just molded plastic. Is it that hard to subcontract out?
Pretty much every part short of the body and core motor is sub contracted out to suppliers. Suppliers both close by and world wide. The suppliers rely on sub suppliers both local and world wide. Etc,,,,etc... The whole supply chain is a mess right now. It's not just "chips". Everything from steel, plastic resin, to screws are in short supply.

I know a splash guard is a simple thing but the molding supplier depends on the world wide supply of things such as plastic resin, colorant, ultraviolet additives, stabilizers, ........ This is true for all suppliers.

I thought they weren't being scheduled till next week. At least that is what this thread is about.
He said "previewing" which is a pre-scheduling step.

From this morning, via the site.. I did it for comparison when someone suggested a Honda BR-V based Maverick competitor.... becuase I wanted to see if Honda had offered AWD on their hybrid platform this year as rumored..

Anyway, getting off track.... but just wanted to illustrate that a well equipped Maverick starts approaching Honda Territory.. But like the Maverick Hybrid... none in stock here in Southern Arizona... so really it's academic.... but perhaps you can order one?

I would go with an over equipped Maverick starts approaching Honda Territory.
You picked the EX version of the CR-V Hybrid so the comparison should be with a Maverick XLT Hybrid.

My 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid with CP-360, inverter and hitch has an MSRP of $26,850 or around $7000 less than the CR-V so I would say it really doesn't approach Honda territory in cost.

Why spend the extra $5,000 to $10,000?
Not sure anyone on this forum could answer that... they are all over priced. But I do have a limit on the amount of time I can wait, so if Ford can't build my 9/16 ordered hybrid by then, I will be looking elsewhere. Actually, I am already looking elsewhere because i don't think Ford can build what was ordered. But i may be able to convince the wife to sell her prius and keep the maverick in like 14 months when it is finally built.

The hybrid is the only reason to own this truck. Oh well......
If I can't get a hybrid this year I might just switch to a 2022/2023 Kia Niro hybrid. Similar price to the XLT and has way better mpg. No towing or 4' bed but at some point, I need a vehicle. The XLT price increase has opened up more car options. ARGH.
