I dont know if anybody else caught this yet. But here is a couple pictures of the factory modified SC competeing in the Rebelle Rally. The article said skidplates, Falkens, and a lift. All factory modified. Sounds like the Tremor recipe to me. Maybe if they do well then Hayundai will do an offroad package and force Fords hand to engineer a Raptor Maverick!

I'm surprised Ford didn't enter a pre-pro Tremor in the Rebelle this year. They've had good showings with the Bronco Sport in previous events.

Now they got more room for gear.

When I was last at LSPR(Lake Superior Performance Rally), they had a factory modified Rav4 doing an exhibition run, and I thought that was just kinda out of place. Now, years later, this thing looks like an absolute blast! Ford needs to step their gamr up to match!

Santa Cruz? Is that like a Bronco Sport with the rear hatch removed?

Nope it's the Tucson with the rear hatch removed. I didn't notice it until my wife said she wanted to trade her Tucson in for a Santa Cruz. Parked side by side you clearly see the same body panels.

Sorry fat brained, I have no idea how I crossed that up with a Tacoma! Fixed it I think! :p gotta get off the hard stuff!

I test drove one for a day on the highway, city and dirt road. I would have purchased it if Hyundai didn’t have a two step financing deal (Excess Profit). Then my Maverick came available when someone walked away and I jumped on it.

Yeah I have no real interest in the Santa Cruz other than the competition and one upping improvements it will make for the Maverick. Like if this Tremor-ish treatment they put on it does well against the Badlands Sports then for may re-think the Badlands and Tremor and work on leveling up more. Maybe a 2+ inch "High Boy" option for the Maverick and a Sasquatch for the Sport. Even better if it ends up with improved power and transmission. Which should come with a 5k tow capacity, still placed well below the Ranger.

Even if Ford Racing just comes out with components to upgrade it like tunes, lifts, and RDU and programmer packs. That would make me happy.

Going tomorrow to test drive one. Dealer wants the wife's 2020 Tucson and she said she'd swap for the Santa Cruz.
Now If I could get a factory rally truck I'd be more enthusiastic about it!

Just shows you that the lift, skids, and tires can be fitted to it. Parts will come eventually. If it finishes the rally!
