Unless you specifically want a small truck (and we are talking a difference of like 5-8 inches length) a proper midsize truck like a Tacoma or Ranger costs the same and gets very close to the same mpg (talking like 1-2mpg less). Personally I would get a Honda Ridgeline before I got a SC.

The SC is just too expensive for what it is.

I know I would only regret buying the SC instead of waiting on the Maverick and I would feel like I made a mistake.

For me the Maverick checks off so many more boxes than the SC does.
