I wonder if in the backrooms of Ford if they're regretting announcing the Maverick as early as they did. It seems like if they had waited 4-6 months maybe none of the supply issues would be causing the many headaches they are now are experiencing.
They wish to dominate this truck market segment. This is how it is done. You do not allow the competition to gain a foothold. As a matter of fact they have 2 major advertising agencies working on this campaign. The advertising is more mature, polished, and deep. The interesting thing is that the people i the ad agencies love the Maverick and that translates into a labor of love. NO! There is no regret and there should not be. This is business, big expensive high investment, high stakes business. The problem is the market, not the business model.

The lower the price of a capital market good the more impatient the market is for it. If I am selling a $4 million dollar Bugatti. I announce that it is coming and it is 18 months out, do you think the people in that market cause all the same fuss? NO!!!

Market domination drives sales into other products that company makes, it also raises market value(stock price). If you recall, the market segment Ford is focusing on. They are also using this vehicle to attract new customers with an entry product so when the next vehicle is purchased they will look at Ford first.

They are very well aware of what they are doing and why.

That's great. Two questions so I can take advantage of it:

(1) How do I get to see the dealer late/constrained availability lists?
(The OP published one here, but I don't know how they got it.)

(2) Where does the constraint show up on the builder page?
(I ask because the OP says spray-in bedliner is constrained, but I just built a Maverick with that on the builder page and didn't see any notice. I'm probably not looking in the right place.)
Same.

The sales person at that dealership may have meant that as a dealer they will not be able to order them for DEALER stock
The dealer said that Ford has reached its allocation for hybrid builds on the Maverick until 2023. Maybe it was BS, but that’s what he said.

So what is the conversion going to be? There will also be people that DO reserve and will not pick up when the car arrives. They are already making a list of people that want one but have not ordered/reserved a Maverick. Lets say they get a 60% conversion rate. If they can do 800(max capacity) cars a day (after the production line is tweaked). That is 75 days or 15 work weeks, that puts us at the end of the year. BUT, that plant is not dedicated to producing Mavericks, AND we have a supply issue.
Where are you getting those "let's say" numbers? Do any of them have any verifiable basis?

Well now I'm glad I saw the example of the fender clear bra and wanted to cancel it when my dealer called to encourage canceling the splash guards. Took the savings and added Copilot 360 for the blind spot monitoring.

I haven't read through the 18 pages of this thread and I am sure it came up already few times: The actual reason I started to look into the Maverick was because my ordered Bronco was most probably not going to arrive until mid-end of next year and I was looking for another car to bridge the gap. The internet sales manager told me about this great truck and that the availability is not going to be an issue and I should receive mine around September/October when I order beginning august. I really liked liked this truck and ordered one right away not knowing is going to be another disappointment. So this is the second car they are going to ef up for me!! I don't care pandemic or no pandemic, the launch was planned during the pandemic and by having the pandemic in mind. I am glad I didn't buy any Ford stocks because if this is another Bronco style mess, the wall street is not going to like it.

Ford should backorder the Tonneau covers and bed mats to be sent later to the dealer to install. The spray in bed liner can also be done by most dealers.
I am sure many would opt for those options to be dealer installed to get their truck quicker. Component supplies have not caught up with demand.
LOL - they should change the name to "Stay in bed" liner like Mdibon said. It was probably a typo but funny. The spray in bed liner is definitely holding up vehicles if they can only produce 31% of the LUX packages. They both have it as a standard equipment on the LUX packages.
So I take that as, due to components (and black goo), only 14% of XLT and 17% of Lariat can be built as LUX. The good news is they can build some XLT Lux and Lariat Lux packages.
Kind of reminds me of the Rolling Stones song . . "You Can't Always Get What You Want" 🤔

Canada is different. No emails for one, VIN came from dealer. I'm in order processing, which is the phase before scheduling.
Oh, I didn't see you were in Canada. Hopefully you get scheduled soon!!!!

On a positive note. I reached out to my sales lady today about possibly removing my soft bed cover to help speed things up. She explained to me that the factory doesn’t fit the covers. They are typically shipped in then the dealers install them so it shouldn’t effect my scheduling. She wasn’t in today but would look into it after her vacation. So idk seems like if that’s the only hold up on the build they’ll usually build it anyway then handle it later. Food for thought.

The term "Let's say" is clearly setting up an example. It is a teaching method. No where did I say something like "Since there is a conversion rate of ##%". True teaching methods give the opportunity to learn how to think rather than relying on others to tell them what to think.

...and that is the trouble with wall street... It is mostly run now by hedge fund managers that want quarterly earnings. Long term outlook is out the window.

If you are in Canada they are a dealer installed option if you are in US it's factory installed.
