One way to think if it is that Ford likely needs to order parts and sign contracts for all the stuff they need to build the Mavericks a year in advance. They may estimate that they will make 100,000 2023 Mavericks (a made up number). They said 10% for the black appearance package which would mean that they ordered 10,000 of those. When they run out they can't make your Maverick if you ordered that. Some people may order a Maverick with several limited items on the list so they would need all of them before they would schedule your truck. There are also scheduling issues since they will not have all 10,000 black parts on the first day of production. If you need to wait three months for those black parts then by the time they come in they may be out of something else you need. Of course these numbers are not engraved in stone and they may be able to adjust them somewhat later in the year based on the demand.I don’t understand what this all means.
