Hey all! We just got back from a cross country road trip in our Maverick! We started from eastern Pennsylvania and drove though Kansas to Colorado where we took the Mav to the top of Pikes Peak! Then we went from there to Arches national park in Utah before heading down to the Grand canyon. From there we went down and spent the night in the Sonoran desert of Arizona then woke up early and drove out to San Diego. We drove Rt 1 and 101 all the way up the coast of California to the redwoods and after that we went up through Washington and back down to the badlands in South Dakota before heading home.

Total trip time 12 days and 7,749 miles. Average mpg 24.5 (according to the dash). Total gas cost was $1,480

We lived out of the Maverick and slept in a tent the whole time and I could not have imagined a better vehicle for this trip.

It was comfortable, smooth, and dependable. Although the gas mileage sounds low, to me that's not bad for an AWD sport utility. We had plenty of storage for all our camping gear and we were able to get anywhere we needed to go, even up the scary muddy shoulderless mountain roads to the campsite in Colorado!

I've never been west of the Mississippi and a cross country road trip has always been my dream vacation!

My wife recently immigrated from Kazakhstan and had never seen a mountain or even an ocean in her life so you can imagine how this was for her!
We set a goal to see all 50 states together and now have done this and the whole east coast. Next trip will be out to Texas 🤠.

"You only live once!"
Be sure to include Palo Duro Canyon, The Alamo, South Padre Island, and The Big Bend ;)

Ahhh. The joys of dinks (doulble income no kids) I say that without malice or disrespect. Sounds like a trip of many lasting memories. Do this more often while you can. Thank you for sharing your adventure. Very happy for you!
You’ve got that right! Both sides of that coin can be great. I second the thought to get out there and enjoy that part the most you can before enjoying the other, if that’s your later-on plan.

@Maverickman74 You crack me up! Nice video.
Thanks. We like to have a lil fun with life. We have a GoPro now so our Maverick trip video will be even better. My wife loves making videos.

Nice Im gonna do something similar when we pick up our Tremor. Wedding in Ohio in march, then race my dad(he will be flying) to his trailer on the border in Texass, then NM, CO, UT, AZ and all they have to offer then maybe Frisco and down to SD to put the well broken in new truck on a boat bound for Maui. Did a trip like that in our Eagle a few years back super fun.

Eagles were incredibly fun vehicles. My friends used to borrow his aunts whenever we had snowstorms and go out to play in the snow or go to the trails and attempt to hill climb it. His aunt never had the right tires for doing so, but it would almost make it to the top every time.
