Yes. Just a first step. Not a ban on fuel powered vehicles. There will be fuel powered commercial and heavy duty vehicles. You know what is a "commercial" vehicle in California? All pick-up trucks. It's what they classify it is, not what you use it for. Use your F-350 for only hauling kids to soccer?! Still a commercial vehicle.
I'll be interested to read the actual rules once they are adopted to see what carve-outs are in place. How will they categories different things and who gets to be exempt.

I have already seen it suggested that you will still be able to do buy a gas vehicle in another state and bring it back to California and register it. If they don't allow that there might be interstate commerce laws they will run into.

The amount of 2022 model orders that were bumped up to 2023 probably already caused them to sell out.

How quickly do you think the 2023 Maverick will sell out and Ford will stop taking orders? I waited too long to pull the trigger on ordering a 2022 and already have a deposit at a dealership for 2023.
I just put in a pre-order today at Sunland Ford. The salesperson told me that they already have 50 pre-orders ahead of mine. I ordered the 2023 Ford Maverick XLT for now in Carbonized Grey. The salesperson also informed me that the prices would increase, but they are selling at MSRP due to Ford's new allocation policy.

I'm one of the ones really wondering about it. I ordered last October and might get notice at any time of a build (although I doubt it). At this point I'd rather have a '23 so the 15th will be my tipping point. If things are fair (no guarantees) I should be close to the front of the line.
The quantities of Mavericks left are those unbuilt from October, November and December. Could be a lot.

Can’t say about November and December, but I ordered on October 30 and have a VIN and September 12 build date.

Me too. Just got a VIN and Sept 12 build week email, but I ordered Jan 11.

No idea what Ford goes by, my smallish dealer that "sells a lot of trucks" may have allocations or region may have them. I was sure I'd get a 23, see my signature.

Is it an EB? I have a hybrid ordered 10/22 with not a peep from them.

I ordered Dec 15, 2021 and have had a VIN since mid-July. Current build date Sept 5. ECO boost...

Don't forget most people here are waiting for their first Maverick so the misinformation is flying along with hormones. Its just a little truck (a nice one) and in a year there will be a lot of used nice little trucks out there for sale. The automotive shipwreck will eventually right itself but I am not going to lose any sleep over it. :)

Hybrids are an endangered species. Expect vast majority of rollovers to be hybrids.

You're on a different roller coaster than I am for the moment. I'm reluctantly accepting this delay, for now. I guess getting a VIN is no guarantee of a Maverick in your driveway next month. Maybe they should just tell us when it's almost at the dealership instead of driving us crazy.

Why are self-charging hybrids not allowed after 2035, but plug-ins are ?
Because they want 50 mile range on all-electric battery only mode which is something that the current gas only hybrids can't do.

For me my hybrid can't even go a couple of miles without the ICE engine kicking on.

So a plug-in hybrid with a 50 mile range on all electric will result in many many trips with no gas being used.
