I still want to know if the transmission has a drain plug like my Escape (6f35 trans) for a drain and fill DIY service. The escape is so easy to do I'm curious if the maverick has one as well. I change mine fairly frequently as its so easy to do while you're under there anyway for an oil change. IIRC the drain plug on the escape is a square head 4 sided 11mm pipe thread plug. Since there's no serviceable filter anyway it doesn't hurt to just do a dump and fill which in reality only replaces a portion of the total capacity but does keep the fluid freshened up if you change it on a regular basis. I'm not a fan of the manufacturer recommended fluid change intervals on things like that at all.

I think its great that you actually get those fluids changed. Most folks don't even think about stuff like transmission, differential, or PTU fluids and they get baked.

As for the PS fluid there is none since the maverick as most new vehicles have electric power steering and no hydraulic system/pump or fluid.
I'm not 100% sure but I think somewhere here or on youtube someone pointed it out. I don't have a lift so am too lazy to go crawling around under mine tho.

My service area is a mountain pass in the cascade mountains, so much of my service area is on forest service roads, unmaintained/gravel and definitely snow in the winter. FWD is a no go even going up some customers steep gravel driveways without snow. But you are totally correct that a hybrid would be ideal, and if Ford offered it from the get go with AWD I would have gone that route. Although I still average 24mpg under my driving conditions which is way better than the 11mpg my super duty used to get 👍
Ya I was always gonna get the AWD but the hybrid motor was not gonna happen for me even if they had a hybrid version and to be honest I am glad I did. I was just reading today about a lawsuit that people are filing because they have had so many issues causing the hybrids to be unsafe (not saying my EB is perfect but had mine for 10 months and only issue I had was a bad seal on a wiring harness plug) I gonna have to drop it off next month for the airbag recall.

But as far as the gas milage on mine I get between 30 and 32 RELIGIOUSLY. Only time I drop below 30 is if I'm hauling the 2 cord Dump trailer to help my buddy do some deliveries.

I with you I'm waiting for the Maverick Raptor or "F-18" editions. I'll probably go up to the 2024 maverick when it comes out by then they should have put them out I hope

Great to hear Bud/gal, but when a vehicle has gotten enough issues to warrant people filing a lawsuit due to in their word "being an unsafe vehicle" then I will be glad to not have owned it. I due recommend upgrading to the AWD when it comes out if you live anywhere it snow my ecoboost was UNSTOPPABLE last winter in Maine. Best example I could give was driving out of snow piled up to my door handles only shoveling I did was to open the door then shifted it in Mud ruts mode and drove out with zero issues don't even think my tire spun.

No doubt on that but the AWD maverick is the best vehicle I have driven in the snow and in Maine if you don't drive in the snow then you end up getting fired from your job haha

sounds like a odd job if you can’t take personal days off whenever you want.

You could probably do a powertrain swap, at least transmission, from a Focus RS.

Good to hear everyone is happy with their Mav's after putting miles on them and apparently no real "issues". I say this as I wait to still get our XLT 2.0 with no bells or whistles in relationship to what is said in the thread "This has me worried, and i havent even got mine yet."

I concur! I would keep the four door, though. I miss my clutch! Dunno if I miss three on the tree!

Probably just needs a program upgrade with a FORTY drive mode selector options on the touch screen!😇
