If climate change was really global, not just normal local weather, could a Maverick with any range really be an escape (no pun) from it?
Most severe weather that prompts organized evacuations is relatively local in nature.

Could more gasoline to burn be a way to remedy such a problem, if it is really man made?
How else would you suggest that people get away from evacuation worthy weather? Walk?

Have I missed a satire alert/label somewhere?
And finally, when will I get my bloody hybrid?
Maybe.

I put "when will I get my bloody hybrid?" into the online Magic 8-ball. I got "Outlook not so good".

Hybrid tank is pressurized, EcoBoost is not. No, you cannot swap them.
I thought all cars have pressurized gas tanks? It's part of the emission control system. Pressurizing the tank helps control fuel vapors.

That was my impression as well. And for a long time too. I had cars back in the eighties that released pressure when you removed the fuel cap. Maybe that's changed in recent years?

I haven't looked at what the tank pressure reading is on my Maverick but presumably it's being pumped to higher than the natural equilibrium vapor pressure. This makes it harder for the gasoline to to transition from liquid to gas.

Climate change used to be called global warming. That became to specific, so gee, the climate does change…naturally. Anyway, 600 miles per tank is fantastic. Plus as one has pointed out, it’s not good for the fuel pump to run each tank to near empty so maybe 550 per tank.

Personally, since I plan to take my Maverick into off-road (within hybrid limits) areas to camp all over the country, I will also be carrying a spare external 5 gallon container of fuel, probably in the truck bed, locked under a cover.

Considering the horrors of human-caused climate change and the weird weather that has ensued from it - flooding in Kentucky, flooding in Death Valley California, terrible fires, and more - having a spare fuel source would enable me to have a little extra bit of reassurance.

I used to live in an area of the country that was very vulnerable to hurricanes. It was not uncommon to hear about people running out of gas during mandatory hurricane evacuations, where traffic can easily back up, and there was no guarantee of gas stations having enough supply, or power, or maybe they were just overwhelmed with customers, etc.
I was actually agreeing with you...then "climate change".
