This is way more about proper fitment than overall wheel size. The offset is wrong, the vehicle height is too tall, and that wheel design in general. I would wager good money that the right 22 with all other things being correct would look good. Each person has their own taste, but I have seen LOTS of wheels in this forum in smaller sizes that look terrible on the Maverick.

Imho.... 22" wheels are not to big. The width and aspect ratio of the tire as well as the offset is why he is "rubbing".

I'm on 22" wheels but measured everything prior to selecting wheels and tires and no rubbing anywhere. Diameter of my tires are the same as my stock 18" wheels are. The Maverick is quite shallow in the rear wheel wells so you cannot go too wide without rubbing the inner plastic fender wells. I went with 255/30/22 for a more sports look rather than rugged (hey its unibody construction anyway). I know its not for everyone and that's ok... we each have different tastes. I also have a 2016 F150 crew cab as well as a 2021 F150 single cab, both lowered and on 24" and 22" wheels respectively. It's just my style...but I will be special ordering a 2024 Ranger that I plan to build as my 1st slightly lifted truck. Excited!

I don't understand the trend to bigger wheels to the detriment of the sidewall. The sidewall of a tire is what gives the tire the ability to absorb unwanted motion from less than perfect pavement. Bigger tires with thinner sidewalls sacrifice that.

Although I've never personally experienced it, I have heard that due to the compromised sidewalls, the tires are also basically more fragile, more vulnerable to sidewall damage.

I want a truck to be a truck, to do truck things like hauling cargo and towing, sometimes very close to the weight limits, and large tires with minimal sidewalls make it more difficult to do that job effectively. I don't need or want my truck to be a show piece or something limited to grocery runs and some mulch because it can't handle anything else.

Lol this isn't really a truck truck... its unibody construction. It gets a pass. As far as uderstanding a trend... It's not a trend. Just because it has a bed doesn't mean it's use is cliche or the same across each buyer. To each their own. My intentions was/is to build a small street able Sport truck with a good amount of power and handling while also having the "ability" to carry stuff in the bed if needed. With smaller sidewalls comes stiffer side walls. I don't know about you but when I see a pot hole I don't think "200 points for each one I can hit". Gotta remember, not everything others do need to be understood by you in order to make sense. It's ok to self express... low profile tires or Tonka truck royales.... 😉

No one is trying to get you to be like them...you use your truck for your needs and wants... others do the same. I think both are ok. Don't you?

To me, it is a truck, full stop, regardless of its unibody construction. It has a 1,564 pound payload capacity (depending on trim), and 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. To me, the capabilities and general body shape define whether or not it's functionally a truck.

2, weight of each tire? (see some guys saying heavy tire may break somewhat rod, voiding warranty

I got a lot of compliments on this truck. I wanted to lower it but never got around to doing it
