Until Ford decided to push the order date back!

I was just going to go in and bite the bullet and order the Lariat Lux. I drive 70 miles a day, so the ACC and Lane Centering would be nice. My wife's van has keyless push button start and I love not having to fish out my keys. Wireless phone charging pad would be nice. Current truck has a sliding rear window that I use, so another one that's electric would be nicer than having to reach back and try and do it.

But then I think I could order a XL and because how long the orders are taking I could probably save damn near the whole purchase price! All those things I'd like are nice, but my current vehicle doesn't really have them so I'm also not missing out!

Damn you Ford!
I would like to add the CP 360 to my XLT lux but I'm afraid of a longer wait and complicating things.

70 mile daily commute? No brainer - Lariat Lux. ACC and lane centering are fantastic. You'll arrive at work/home less fatigued.

In my 10 month now, save more money, upgraded to a XLT now. Most likely getting push to 2023MY. just a hitch and full size spare tire. 2.0 AWD CG. call Ford still a priority 19.

I'm pretty sure I have decided on a Lariat Hybrid with the luxury package for my LM order when it gets rolled over the 2023. The other possibility is going with a XLT Tremor (which will probably be around the same price as the Lariat Hybrid with Luxury package).

I have gotten hooked on adaptive cruise control in the last year. My work vehicle (which I drive back and forth to work in addition to for work) is a 2021 Toyota Camry LE. Despite being the fleet version of the base model it has adaptive cruise and I use it regularly. The vehicle my wife and I share right now, a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, also has ACC. I don't really want to give that up long term.

Now that my Granger order has moved to priority 2 I have hope I will get a 2022 Maverick (just hope, but it is at least possible). Assuming that happens I will have plenty of time to wait for the 2023 and can have all sorts of constraints. I can live with the regular cruise for 9 months or a year or however long it takes for the Lariat Luxury to get built.

I was pretty solidly in the xlt camp except for the clothe seats. There were other features I liked about the lariat, but the clothe seats were the ultimate deal breaker for me. Sure, seat covers would work but why buy a brand new vehicle and immediately cover it up because you didn't like it?
I had good luck getting seat covers at new and then taking them off just before I sold it. Helped me to get top dollar so it was worth it.

When I went to my dealer last year I asked for an Hybrid XLT with the trailer hitch and the power inverter. They were too inexpensive not to add. The dealer made a mistake that I didn't catch and ordered the XLT with the lux package. The lux package came with a number of things I was going to add myself so I let it go as ordered. Unfortunately the lux package has been a major constraint item.

I found out the remote start is available from Ford parts. The DIBL is only a few dollars more aftermarket. I already bought bed lights and a pure sine wave inverter. I have some ideas for a bed rail project. Here in south Texas I don't have much need for the heated devices.

When I switch my order to a '23 I'm only adding a trailer hitch to my Hybrid XLT. I will have fun installing the other things I want. Minimize the constraint items and maybe finally get my Maverick.

Meet in the middle with XLT?
I attempted to have the dealer add a moon roof & sliding rear window on the 2 xlt's we ordered in January. I figured since I do not have a build date or any build info from Ford they would be able to add to the trucks. Dealer informed me that they are unable to do & locked out. Salesman said during production vehicles are put in groups according to options on the vehicle. I called Ford while at dealership figuring something could be done, because on this forum people have said their production dates have been changed many times. Women I spoke to from Ford said possibly dealer could contact their Ford rep. ,who is apparently on vacation. Apparently trucks are getting close to be scheduled maybe??? Has anyone been able To make any changes to their orders? Thanks

Honestly I keep bouncing back and forth between 3 builds.

A XL hybrid with 360, sliding rear window, hitch, and outlet.

XL Ecoboost with 4k, 360, and outlet.

Lariat Lux Hybrid.

They all have uses to me (some for sure, others more of a potential use).

Love my Rapid Red First Edition Hybrid 😍, although a long 9.5 months wait, it was worth all the features.

Orange? No, just ........................ No. Can't do it.
I had a good look at an xlt in April. I don't like the orange either, but it was not as bad as I thought. I will say that if I don't get my vin for a 22, I will be ordering a XL. I should have done that to begin with.

I started out wanting a XL Hybrid. Then I decided on a XLT Hybrid. Then added the Lux package. Then XLT AWD LUX. Then XLT AWD LUX FX/4. Currently XLT LUX Tremor.

So yes, I am worse than a school girl trying to decide on her prom dress and my wife is sick of listening to me about it. :ROFLMAO:

Now I gotta call my dealer and change my pre-order. Trust me he is going to be sick of me before this is all over too
I have been to the dealer twice in the last month to make changes. I apologized on my last visit. He said not to worry about it. A lot of people are doing it. BTW, the sales manager knows my name now. My wife also is tired of hearing about it. I will make more changes if I don't get the 22. Ford is giving us way too much time to think!

Having just now sat in a Maverick for the first time - I have to say you are right.

I've really knocked the XLT because of the orange trim. I still don't like the orange trim. BUT it isn't nearly as bad in person.
My exact reaction when I saw it live and in person.

You probably know this, but if you don't, the dealer can not make changes if you are a priority 2. The dealer would have to change you back to a priority 10 which they could do if you don't have your vin yet. Then the zone rep would have to change it back to a priority 2 at the dealer's request, as long as you have not added a constrained item.
