I like your setup. I would have ordered one with mine had it been available at the time, as it is I will live with my tri-fold but maybe on the next one!

That’s what I’ve been trying to tell people, too. I like the flat top look better and have done that on five different pickups before this. But on this it would suck. Too low inside, and the view out the back would be impossible.
The visibility out the back, I don't really care about. Side mirrors work fine for that. My biggest issue is that as it is, with the back hatch of the topper open it's right at my eye level. I hot my head getting stuff in and out. Any lower would be a real PITA.

Based on all the rear view commentary with a topper on, since I picked up my Maverick, I just don't use the rear window/mirror. Visibility is horrid out of it anyway, compared to any car I've had before.

If you don't mind, how tall are you?

5'10" so not exactly tall.

I did at least confirm that my bike will (barely) still fit in the back with the rear hatch open.

I'm 5'9" or a touch over, and I doubt an inch would make much difference with the viewing angle. Dang. Not to mention most of my friends who will be getting stuff in/out of my truck are taller than me...

I guess I need to wait till A.R.E. releases a cap with a bump (MX line?) or the west coast Leer plant decides to do matte black.

I don't bike but that is great news that you can still fit a bike.

So I bit the bullet and ordered the Snug Top through my local Leer dealer, with a quoted lead time of 2-4 months. It will have Leer badging instead of Snug Top, but it's the same thing/same options (or lack thereof). I went and talked to my local A.R.E. dealer as well and messed around with a few of their floor models for other trucks. I wasn't overly impressed with the build quality (compared to Leer toppers I've always had), or the prices and lead times they quoted for a topper similar to the Snug Top. Especially without even having a picture of the Maverick models. I'm also to the point where I need to get something on order - I don't want to be going into hunting season without a topper.

I also ordered it in matte black instead of cyber orange. My thought is that it'll just about match the black plastic edging all around the bed and also maintain the "truck" look. I'm also thinking that while I wait for it to arrive I'll vinyl wrap the roof of the cab in matte black as well to kind of mimic the hardtop look of a Bronco or Jeep.
Then send pics!

They didn't tell me the exact code, I just said I wanted a matte that would match the plastic. They even went so far as to texture it a little. No additional cost for either. Radco is the name of the local dealer, not sure if they're in Illinois.
Would you be able to reach out and see if they know the code? Trying to order a matte black ARE topper here but they said they need the paint code for a matte black.

Went to order Leer top today. Vendor also said he was not sure how to get matte finish but he will ask. I might reach out to your vendor in Minnesota.
Thanks

I just called them this morning, and they said that they don't have/didn't need a paint code. When they called Leer to order it they just told them matte black and they used a matte black that they had on hand. I suppose you could just find any matte black code and give them that. My hunch is that it is a Jeep color for their hard tops. There's also a texture in the paint that is similar to the plastic molding (not a smooth finish)

My dog sitter has a Gladiator and she got a Leer since I last saw her truck. It's in the textured matte black and looks fantastic, even better than in your pictures, which I already really like. I reallllly wish west coast Leer would sell that for the Mav!

you could always drive to MN to get it installed... ;) And yeah, the texture is awesome, and almost perfectly matches the plastic. It must be a Jeep color. Here's a more detailed picture of the back end that shows the truck trim, the topper color, and the black trim on the topper. They're all nearly identical.

Damn that color match photo is great. Be nice to know what paint/texture it actually is but if the installer tossed their hands then oh well

Yeah that looks great! I thought it was pretty close from looking at the dog sitters Jeep, but my Mav was 50ft away so not quite a direct comparison.

Yes - it ends up sitting on the cross bars, and the back end of the canoe rests on the back of the topper. I ended up getting some foam pads to put under the gunnels so it doesn't rub. I haven't taken any pictures, but it works well.
