I wanted to get the feel of a Ford..with a similar dash as the Maverick.... in the city the computer was showing 28-29 mpg WOW... rode like a truck... Front end is out there :)
Pretty city quick....for 3 banger
If I didn't need a truck once in a while I would have bought it...$28210.00
I really liked it...I hope the Maverick will have a similar feel

The 3-banger is precisely why I never looked at the Bronco.
Badlands trim is the one to get -2.0T - Rear lockers - I am a fan but it's just too small for a family camping weekend and wanted a truck bed. Nice styling -

I like the Bronco Sport, but it was out of consideration due to poor fuel economy.

I think they missed the boat a bit on the BS and engine selections. Having to go to the very top to get a reasonable 4 cylinder engine is strange. Drop it as an option in the mid tiers.

I thought about them but struck off the list early as it's a stop gap to the real Bronco. I'd always look at it and wish it was its big brother.

That seems to be a bit of a strange position. A BS is a completely different rig. Do you feel that way simply because of the name? That’s like saying you can’t settle on a Maverick because it’s not a Ranger or an F series.

My wife was a long time Rav4 (9 years) and CR-V (9 years) driver, and she said the Bronco Sport Outer Banks is the best vehicle she's ever owned!

That's based on 1 month of ownership. The Toyota & Honda were excellent quality for 9 years each though the Honda had a very peculiar problem; we'll have to see if Ford can match it...or at least come close.

I agree it's a different rig. I researched both, and at one point had the BS high on the list. But seeing it, researching it, and thinking about it I realized it wasn't for me. I would love a Bronco, but it's not a practical vehicle (size, price with features I want, road noise, how often would I take off the roof and doors?, etc.). If I got the Bronco Sport it's because I wanted a Bronco, but didn't want the draw backs of one. It would be a compromise and I'd always look at it like that. Not saying others should, just a realization I made.

Now the Maverick checks the boxes for what I want in a truck. It's filling in the gaps for why I don't own a F150 (size, ride comfort, price, fuel efficiency, etc.) Personal preferences and all.

My wife has a Bronco Sport BL, I've got a Bronco and Maverick. She dearly loves her BS but I do find her driving the Maverick when she has a chance. She likes the idea of it being a Hybrid. The BS and Maverick are very similar which isn't all that surprising since they are built on the same platform. I don't think I would describe the BS as riding like a truck, more like a SUV which is what it is. The Bronco on the other hand drives like a truck because it is one.

The Maverick has a slightly cheaper feel to it than the BS, it feels more like it was built to a price point, but actually when you consider the price it's really pretty good.

Yeah the fit/finish on the Sport is clearly better than the Mav-

Wife has (and loves) her BS Outer Banks, purchased in November '21. It was our first-ever American nameplate purchased new (we also have an old F-150 I bought stupid cheap from my employer).

We considered a Maverick Hybrid back then, due to the cost and fuel economy, but were not going to pay the $10k ADM that the dealer had on the XLT on the lot. The BS ended up costing us less.

Overall she's been getting about 30 MPG. We both like it enough that I have a deposit in with the local dealer to order a '23 Maverick Hybrid on Aug 2, to be sold at MSRP when it eventually comes in.

This is an interesting comparison, i have 2 Bronco Sport Outer Banks and love them both. I have a Lariat Lux, FX4, CPO 360 on order as I look forward to the the added utility that the Maverick bed provides. Just did a 2300 plus mile round trip to MyrtleBeach and averaged 29.9 MPG actual through the mountains and running 78 mph on the highway. One will go to make room for the Maverick, but if it never shows up, we’ll be happy keeping them. We’re happy with the Sports and will be equally happy when and if the Maverick shows up….. a win-win either way.
