I think @JBnorthTX has the answer. Ford has to pay the dealer if they do the warranty work. The fix for this recall is fairly easy and does not require a lift of a whole shop like the gas tank recall. Ford can do it cheaper by sending out their own teams trained to do this work.Makes no sense to me. Why hold these Mavericks at the rail yard?? Why not expedite them to the dealerships so they can be repaired and then delivered to the customers. I doubt there going to send them back to the factory for updates. My ordered Maverick is supposed to be built Aug 15th. Hopefully some of these problems will be fixed on these later built Mavericks before they leave the factory??

I didn't think about Ford doing this to avoid paying dealers for the warranty work. When my salesman suggested the hold at the railyard was because of the recall, I asked him if Ford would actually do the fix there instead of having their dealership do it. He didn't have an answer. He did say they have a Mach E currently held up at the same railyard, and the holdup also coincided with a recent recall.I think @JBnorthTX has the answer. Hello. Yes, who is calling. My name is, umm, Jim—Jim Farley. My Mav in transit is headed to this same yard, Dixiana. I doubt there is any hold up due to vehicle damage as I think this yard handles a lot of mavericks; they cannot all be damaged. I was starting to believe it was only hybrids that were being held up for some sort of future repair/recall, but your conversation indicates it is all mavericks including EBs. Would be good to know if it is only hybrids being held up. My EB comes thru there and is supposed to be delivered on or about 8 August. Anybody who has an EB delivered thru this yard experiencing similar holdups. How about at other destination yards??
May have misrepresented yourself????![]()
My Lariat was there less than a week and trucked to Morrie's Okemos Ford. Only 28 days total shipping. Got just before going on vacation to Grand Haven, MIchigan. I think I was lucky that a truck was heading that way.Mine has been stuck at the Michigan Assembly plant for 3 weeks. Though other mavericks are being delivered to dealerships in the Metro Detroit area, both hybrid and EB

Completely unrelated but do you happen to be the twin brother of bass playing legendMy hybrid Maverick is in transit and subject to the recall. However, I spoke with my dealer today and was told that when it comes in, the dealership will prep AND do the recall fix. Just posting this because it seems to contradict the idea of holding back the Mavs.
