Hey guys,

The more I read about people getting screwed with their orders because of the dealer not going through with the ROVP/COVP the more I wish there was a stickied thread about this process and how to confront dealers about it.

I've asked my salesman about it and he has no idea what it is. I went into the Dealer when he wasn't there and spoke to 2 other salesmen and they also had no idea what it was. After 8 months of waiting I'm definitely starting to freak out.

Is there any paperwork that I can officially show them?

I feel this is so ridiculous to have to show a dealership this when they should absolutely know what this is.

Thanks

Not exactly an answer to your question.

I've been thinking about whether it would be worth it to create some sort of template for folks to bring to the dealer for their 2023 orders for the dealer to sign stating the price is final with no future dealer markups guaranteed. If the dealer won't sign that, you know they're probably not reputable.

@fordvideoguy has this covered.

You may need to get in contact with the Sales Manager to ask about the COVP acceptance. Often they're the ones who are actually interacting with ordering (DORA), COVP/ROVP, and SmartVincent and not the floor sales staff.

I think this is great stuff but I read a few threads in here that there were dealers trying to throw ADM's on after orders had been placed. It's hard to see what's happening behind the scenes but it seems like Ford isn't really doing anything about the markups.

that is how it works at my small local dealer. I believe the Finance guy can also confirm COVP/ROVP information for me in a pinch. They just read it off the screen to me, but I've never asked to take screenshot or get a printout. Guys on the sales floor are basically Mushrooms at this level.

@Darnon this is exactly who you should be speaking to. The Finance Manager at my small town dealer did the work and it was done correctly and verified by Ford customer service. You should be able to get the Order Number and Dealer Number, or even a copy of the DORA, from the guy and then call and confirm with Ford (Marketing # - 800-334-4375). Just ask them to confirm your order was accepted.

Reputable sales people shouldn't have any trouble with this process. The lady who did my order got it confirmed within a day or two and emailed me the Order Summary sheet anytime I made a change (remove SIBL, etc). Since the order summary sheet shows the price for all of the options I'm guessing dealers won't give that to you if they plan on adding dealer options later like paint protection or if they plan on trying to ADM it.

Which UP(Upper Peninsula of Michigan) dealer did you order from? I'm close to Menominee.

@fordvideoguy has this covered.

@fordvideoguy I'm worried that I'm going to be a statistic. I recently reached out to my dealer after Ford Support Chat told me that I should to check to see if my order has an approved COVP. Unfortunately it is a very small dealership and the sales person I was working with is no longer employed there. The guy taking over my order is new to the dealership and new to sales. He said he talked with his manager and was told that I won't get a COVP until it's either built or shipped. From everything I've tried to learn through this site, this doesn't seem correct. Seems like I should be able to get a copy even though I'm still in "Order Processing"

How should I handle this situation?
