I'm picking up my Mav now with the recall fixed.

They "removed two grill shutters (or 4 blinds) and drilled some holes. New spots for rust to form. I asked the to look at the EV wire harness, they said the did and it "looks fine".

CA has a new car two day return policy. Oh well, I'll be stuck with y'all in a couple hours time.

Wife won't let me park in the garage now.

I also regret not adding a trailer hitch and wire harness. Option was $100? I don't remember. I tought it came with the hitch but not the harness.

Now its $330 part+ $130 labor +$125 wire harness.

Sorry if I'm coming off negative.

checked mine [and no recall]
Do you know when yours was built? Was it outside the 2/3/2021-6/8/2022 window on the recall?

I'm asking because I am wondering if the "2/3/2021" date is a typo.

Are we talking about drilling holes in the shield you remove to change your oil?
Or is this a metal shield that's non-removable?

Picked up my brand new Maverick Wednesday, and I'm waiting in line to enter the service dept for this Engine Fire hazard recall. They wanted to turn me away for not having an appointment. Wife reminded me I'm within the lemon law return period.
Hell yeah

Here’s a screenshot of the shield from the posted video. The blue areas being the fix.

Thanks, then that is the lightweight shield you remove to change the oil. I read a comment somewhere else about causing rust by drilling holes, and I was thinking they were talking about a metal shield.

Ford used a plastic that rusts?! When do we start the class action lawsuit? /sarcasm

The warnings about buying a vehicle in it's first manufacture year keep rising to the surface. The silver lining is future (and yet-to-be-built) Maverick will have those issues quality controlled before they're loaded on the rail car.

It's time to keep a running list of issues so I can go down the checklist when I pick up my truck this summer/fall.

One recall to drill a couple holes for safety reasons and you're talking lemon law. Ha, good luck with that, your attorney will be happy to take your money.

yes...why would ANYONE not take the 100. hitch option....? Harness and hitch for a C note...? EASIEST of all the options to figure out.

This recall affects Corsairs and Escapes built from 2019 to 2022 (as well as 2022 Mavericks).

So I don't think I would classify this a "first manufacture year" problem.

My question was about the build date of @adsandiego's Maverick, which he says isn't showing the recall.

Because the dates in the recall notice cover almost all Mavericks built so far, I'm wondering if maybe his was built in the last month or if the recall dates could be wrong.
