unfortunate no a software update fixes that issue to stop dumping extra fuel during cold starts. Is this for those red hot catalytic converters?
Imagine how many of us who are waiting on hybrids would already have our Mavericks if all the EB buyers had just bought a Santa Cruz instead - just sayin'.
Are there people on the "fuel tank recall" thread that say ridiculouness like this?
It's almost as if Ecoboost owners have a chip on their shoulders and have to justify buying an EB.To each their own. Bummer about the hybrid recall. Best wishes with your Ecoboost. Done.

NJ lemon law needs 3 repairs…Picked up my brand new Maverick Wednesday, and I'm waiting in line to enter the service dept for this Engine Fire hazard recall. They wanted to turn me away for not having an appointment. Wife reminded me I'm within the lemon law return period.
And I had one of those Kia’s. A 2015 Kia Optima that blow a rod thru the engine at 64k miles. It took about 90 days, but they did replace the engine at no cost and even payed my towing bill. As the second owner the drive train warranty had ended at 60k.You're calling for rod bearing failures on the EB engines? And what percentage of engines do you expect this to happen to?
I ask because Kia/Hyundai have recalled about 6 million vehicles for similar issues and the failure count was about 5,000.. so fractions of a percent.
Not necessarily, a 2015 Kia Optima we owned blew a baseball sized hole thru the lower block and did not catch fire.I read this bulletin and it is basically saying the engine has to grenade the lower end (which would let all the fluids out) and catch fire.
Did I read this correctly?
I would think any car that did that would have a fire.
sorry to hear. thanks for the link.Checked on the recall link. My Mav is on it. Dang

Just saw a new Maverick recall notice came out. https://www.newsmax.com/finance/str...threat-escape-maverick/2022/07/08/id/1077921/
The new recall covers certain 2020 through 2022 model year Ford Escape, Maverick and Lincoln Corsair vehicles with 2.5-liter Hybrid/Plug-In Hybrid engines. Ford said in the event of an engine failure, significant quantities of engine oil and fuel vapor may be released that could accumulate near ignition sources resulting in a potential under-hood fire.
