  1. 302 Grabber

I need another "fun" car. I'm turning 50 this month and it helps me justify some frivolous spending. Here is a "Maverick" 302 Grabber being rebuilt down the street from me. I'm not impressed with the curbside rattlecan job, but it runs. What do you think?
  2. Beware of catalytic converter thefts

My 05/22 Hybrid Maverick in CA has a fat second CC way out in the open like a ripe juicy fruit. Last night my neighbor across the street had his CC stolen from a newer Corolla, so I DIY protected mine. I'm cheap, and happy with a low budget deterent. Lowe's 3/16" uncoated steel wire, one...
  3. Herky Jerky Stopping and Initial Movement on Idle [Fixed]

I have 1.3K miles on my basic XL Hybrid. Up to this point it has been impossible to come to a complete stop smoothly. I attributed this to new brake pads and grabbing. I was just going to live with it and figured that's just how this car drives. Then I happened to try turning the traction...
  4. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

No before photo. I just received the car two days before (brand new) and parked it in the garage. No freeway driving. The grill shutters were closed when I inspected it. Now they stay open and there's of course blinds permanently removed. The damage is fresh. Should I try to straighten the...
  5. My Carvana Offer

I got an offer yesterday for $31,500 on my bare bones XL. The only option I added was the bed tray. Paid $21,450. It was not Carvana or Carmax, but a trade-in dealer I love in Orange County. I can highly recommend them.
  6. Looking Up, Valuations.

I just sold my other car and had the trade-in dealer inspect and make an offer on my basic XL with 59 miles on the odo. He came back with an offer of $31.500. Not bad, I would have taken it if the Ford Maverick online order taking was still open. But, alas I will settle in to enjoy my new...
  7. 2.9% for 60 Months on MY 23 Mav?

I got 1.9% on a 36 mo finance last week.
  8. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

Norm Reeves Ford Service dept banged up my radiator fins in a number of places when they ripped out those active shutter blinds.
  9. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

I'm picking up my Mav now with the recall fixed. They "removed two grill shutters (or 4 blinds) and drilled some holes. New spots for rust to form. I asked the to look at the EV wire harness, they said the did and it "looks fine". CA has a new car two day return policy. Oh well, I'll be stuck...
  10. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

Picked up my brand new Maverick Wednesday, and I'm waiting in line to enter the service dept for this Engine Fire hazard recall. They wanted to turn me away for not having an appointment. Wife reminded me I'm within the lemon law return period.
