Mileage for 1st oil change for Hybrid?

For the Hybrid owners, I'm curious at what KMs does your dealer want you to make your 1st oil change? 8000KM for me.


Edit: Should have included miles, 8000KM = 5000 Miles.

I changed mine for the first time around 5k miles. Definitely would not wait any longer then that, was a bit of sealant residue and metal particulate in the oil. The oil "looked" fine, but hard to tell without an analysis.

I am changing mine at 5K, Spoke to the service manager who also has a hybrid and he is doing the same thing

Mine is scheduled for today, with a tire rotation. 10,600 miles...states I still have 8 percent oil life left.

I would be really curious what the oil report from a lab would be on your oil. I have heard of oil being pushed like that and coming back completely ok.

I plan on changing the oil ever 8-9k now that the first change is done. A little conservative, but I prefer the peace of mind that my engine is being babied.

I'm about to turn over 5K miles and I'm going to get it changed at the dealer and have them check a couple things before going on a road trip out west in August.

I would not go pass 7k miles, but that's just me. You need to change at intervals that allow you to sleep at night. Now 10k intervals would give me nightmares.

Did mine at 1500 so I could install magnetic drain plug.

I went ahead and changed mine (DIY) at 2400 miles (3800km). Old oil was pretty nasty looking, even at that low mileage, so I'm glad I went ahead and did it

Thats what I'm afaid of.. although they do put special break in oil and needs to sit in there for awhile.

Change it when the truck tells you it needs to be changed. This is very simple.

Asking a dealership what they recommend is like asking your gas station cashier for medical advice. Maybe worse than that, since the dealer has financial incentive for you to change it much more often than necessary.

I go by the "oil life" on the computer...if it shows it has life left...I live it. Full synthetic oil is not cheap and easily out performs dino oil. I'm good with it. 10,600 miles and still life left, but changing it today.
